Legal Downloads?
Does anyone know where I can download mp3s legally, but without copy protection so I can play them on my mp3 player? I've come across one site, but you had to pay a monthly fee. I just want a site like itunes or HMV that I can just pay to download tracks when I want, that I can actually listen to! I find it really frustrating that I can't seem to download songs legally because I don't have an Ipod or a mp3 player from HMV. (Seriously, is someone trying to force me into illegal downloading lol?)
Any help much appreciated!! mi|kshake~ |

Do you have to rip the iTunes tracks to a CD first?

nope ... these programs just delete everything that comes with the mp3 files from iTunes such as copy protection and comments and stuff like that

I use NoteBurner for my iTunes stuff. You can get it *ahem* for free. It's a virtual drive, that burns the files of your playlist to it, and then encodes them into MP3. I use it with iTunes. So, then you can use iTunes! more detials etc on their website.

legal downloads????????????? LOL
anyway a simple solution suggested by another AHS member was to burn the mp3 with coppyright protection onto a cd, then rip another mp3 from it. |

Some albums are now available on itunes as "itunes plus", meaning they have no copy protection and are 256 kbps...they're $.30 more, though. To get them to show up you have to go into your profile and check a box that says "show itunes plus".
Or you could just wait a year or two ...Steve Jobs really wants iTunes music to be DRM free since that's what the consumers want...but the music suits do not, of course.
