　２人はhitomiがデビューする前からの友人で、10年ぶりに再会したことをきっかけにすぐに意気投合 し恋愛に発展。再会した年の02年11月に結婚した。交際が報じられたことのない中での電撃結婚。婚姻届は 2人仲良く提出していた。

　結婚直後にはhitomiが卵巣腫瘍（しゅよう）の摘出手術を受けるという苦難もあったが、2人で乗り越 え、その後も夫婦円満の生活を送っていたと思われていた。これまで不仲を報じられることがなかったため、離 婚も電撃となった。

　結婚当初、雑誌のインタビューでUさんのことを「『私と向かう方向は違うけど、玄関が一緒だ！』という感 じ」と独特の言葉で表現していたこともあったが、方向性の違いが逆に離婚の原因にもつながった ようだ。

　hitomiは最近、歌手活動以外に女優活動にも精力的で、今年1月に公開された映画「悪夢探偵」（塚本 晋也監督）ではスクリーンデビュー作でいきなり主演に挑戦。8月には舞台「Waiting for the sun」にも出演するなど、活動の場をどんどん広げていたことも生活のすれ違いを広げる結果にもなった。U さんは「GAS―」の脱退後はデザイン会社に勤務していた。

　hitomiは12月5日にベストアルバムを発売。それだけでなく今月２４日にはデビュー15周年のプレ イヤーに突入と、仕事に集中する環境も整っており、公私ともに心機一転、離婚のショックを引きずることなく 新たなスタートを切ることになりそうだ。

The guy's last name was Uesugi (U-san), and was a member of the boyband GAS BOYS. He met hitomi ten years ago. Now we get to know that hitomi's legal name from 2002 to date was Hitomi Uesugi (上杉仁美), but I think now her last name is once again Furuya (古谷仁美).
