Madonna on Star Academy again?

According to French newspaper "Le Parisien", negotiations are currently under way between Endemol and Madonna's management to have her again as a guest at their "Star Academy" show in an episode to air on January or February 2007.

As our readers remember the Queen of Pop made her first appearance ever on the TF1 casting-show on November 11, 2005 as part of her promotional tour for "Confessions On A Dance Floor".

I really hope this turns out to be true, she was fabulous when she did Hung Up and Get Together on Star Academy the first time. Who could forget her big silver getup?

Guys !!!!!!! this is so exciting !! I just met Angela tonight in Paris !!!
I work in a hotel where Seal is currently staying for promotion of his new LP in Paris (M stayed there for the AL promo in 2003).
A young lady came to my Concierge Desk to leave an envelope for a mr Price...Stuart Price also staying with us..... !!!!!!
I looked at her and then realised she was Angela, M's manager !!!!!!!!!
I was shaking when I told her I've been a fan for the past 20 years ! She was very sweet and friendly.
She told me she apologized for the delay of the last Icon issue !! She said it will be out next week and once again deeply apologized for the delay. She seemed very concern about that.
She also confirmed me the new album will be out "in the spring" !!!!
This is true ! no lie here.
She is a very nice woman and she looks very nice in real.

As for the ICON magazine, I'll believe it when I see it. Angela is definitely a reliable source nonetheless. She is Madonna's personal assistant after all.

This thread really isn't much discussion, it's more of a Madonna news feed. It seems like a lot of the discussion I try to create in here just kinda runs into the ground because I'm overenthusiastic.

I share your love for Bedtime Stories too, it's my favorite album of all time by anyone.

Anyways, not if but when Madonna is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year, what do you guys think she'll perform? If she doesn't do a medley I'm assuming she'll do Everybody considering thats the song that started the countdown to eligibility. Like A Virgin would be pretty cool too since it was her first number one single.

Your contribution is most definitely appreciated, at least by me. It's been much easier to keep up with Madonna news since AHS got an official thread.

Maybe Like a Prayer? It feels like the iconic Madonna song to me and it has more of the rock rebel attitude/association than most of her other famous songs, IMO.

First single small updates

To continue a member's story here, apparently first single resolutions are being made as I write this down. Up till now a collaborated first single with not only Madonna was taken under considerations (perhaps a Timbaland/JT collaborated track), now however there's a new fierce candidate! A crazy dark dance track produced by DANJA features solo M singing partly with vocoder and strong stylish beat. A mega hit production. With only a small spoken part by Danja. Some say her vision on this record is going to take pop to a whole other level.
Definitely exciting!

MadonnaTribe has heard some exciting and exclusive news about Madonna's new album that we are happy to report for the very first time online.

There are five final songs that are produced by Justin Timberlake and Timbaland and that had their final mixing at "Hit Studios Miami" last week.

From what we have been told there's a song called "4 minutes to save the world" and it's an upbeat and very catchy hip-hop Madonna/Justin Timberlake duet.
Another song is called "Across The Sky". It has lots of acoustic guitars, the flow is very much like "The Power Of Goodbye" and sounds like a real hit.
Madonna is hitting really high notes there while Justin Timberlake is on back vocals.

The third song is titled "Dance Tonight", a funky mid-tempo tune, yet another Madonna/Justin duet, think "Rock Your Body" by Justin with the claps and everything, this apparently has the same structure as well.

"Even the devil wouldn't recognize you" is a fourth song. Amazing ballad, very "Cry Me A River" by Justin Timberlake in it's structure and Justin on back vocals on this one too.

The fifth song is named "Miles Away" and we have been told this is the THE BEST of the whole bunch. A hit written all over it.
Full of acoustic guitars, beautiful uptempo song and Justin on back vocals again. The song structure may recall "Love Profusion", but it's much better.

From what we have been reported, there's no need to worry about Madonna's new album. It's going to be an incredible album that will mark the year of her 50th birthday in such a fantastic way.

Stuart Price On The New Album and Upcoming Tour!

Stuart Price was interviewed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and talked about his most recent collaborations, the ones with Madonna for her albums and tours and the one with Seal for his brand new "System" album.

The interview is great and entertaining as always happens when Pete meets Stuart, but this time it does also contain two important bits of information that shed some light on the genesis of Madonna's new album and on the plans for a new tour.

In his chat with Pete Tong, Price explains that - while the new Madonna album is expected for the next year, a new tour is not coming soon.
"I don't think there will be a tour, imminently", Stuart said.

He also explains why he has not been involved on the production of the new album:
"She is doing a new album, but she wants to do an urban record this time that's not really kind of what I do, so she's hooked up with Pharrell and Timbaland and is doing that record at the moment which I think comes out next year."

I'm not really sure if I believe that or not, they said the same thing before the Confessions Tour and I'd assume Stuart would be the musical director for any future Madonna tour. Then again, he's not involved in the project so how would he know?

I just can't see her not touring next year because of her 50th birthday and the 25th anniversary. I said it before and I'll say it again, with all her film, charity, and music projects plus Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 2008 is gonna be the year of Madonna.

Malawi applauds Madonna for helping orphans

The Malawi government on Tuesday applauded Madonna's efforts to put the plight of the country's AIDS orphans on the global stage and raising money to support them.

The American singer said last week she would work with luxury goods maker Gucci to raise at least $2 million for Malawi's one million orphans.

Madonna and the Italian firm will host a fundraising event with dinner, musical performance and a party on Feb. 6 next year to mark the opening of Gucci's largest store in the world, on New York's Fifth Avenue.

"What she is doing for orphans of this country very few super stars like her can do that, she has managed to put their plight on the world stage," government spokesperson and Information Minister Patricia Kaliati told Reuters.

"Madonna has built clinics in rural areas where government has failed to reach and because of that she has saved many lives of pregnant mothers who could have died," she said.

The pop star and her husband Guy Ritchie's bid to adopt David Banda from Malawi has hit several snags since they took the 13-month-old boy from the African country last year to their home in London.

The boy had been placed in an orphanage by his father after the death of his mother. Madonna is due to return to Malawi next April for a hearing before she can permanently adopt the child.

Madonna said the charity event would benefit UNICEF and the charity she co-founded in 2006, Raising Malawi, which focuses on trying to help Malawi's orphans, many of whose parents have died of AIDS.

Madonna signed boots for charity auction

Yesterday Charitybuzz informed us that Madonna donated a pair of Yves Saint Laurent boots (size 37), encased in glass, and signed “Love Madonna”, to Charitybuzz, for Rosie O’Donnell’s Rosie’s For All Kids Foundation. She wore them in an April 2003 photo shoot for W magazine, the picture is included in the glass case of her wearing them. "They are a dark green and lace-up to above knee high," Charitybuzz’s Maya Wertheim told Drowned Madonna.

Today, Charitybuzz sent us two photographs of the Madonna's signed boots. Enjoy!

The reason why I'm so fanatic about Madonna is that she feels like such a complete person. She makes incredible music, she's good looking, she has the right personality, she's nice AND topping all of that she has an amazing heart. How, please, tell me HOW on Earth can some people not love her?
