She was the one who did in that specific genre though. So you can say she made J-R&B more popular and recongizible.

Oh no no no! Her voice is the best out there XD Better than Ayu's I have to admit, of course. But I still love both^^ But her voice is not whiny or off key O.o; Maybe in live performances...but hardly...

Are you CRAZY?! She puts the most effort into her music than any other artists in Japan O.O;;

Uh, no. R&B was definitely introduced to Japan by Hikki. They were all really excited about the new genre that Hikki brought along with her. Trust me, I know my stuff about Japan

First, you didn't have to post four times in a row. Then secondly, R&B has been in Japan way before Hikki. For example, the song Kumi covered with EXILE, WON'T BE LONG. When did that come out? 1990, before Hikki was even eight years old...

^If I'm not mistaken both versions of WON'T BE LONG was pop, not R&B. The only person I can say who covered R&B was Namie but she was more pop, not R&B. Like I said early, Hikki was the only who solely did R&B during those times.

I definitely agree with you. And thank you for trying to clear it up for her
Though I don't want to fight over it xD

For your first remark...I was replying to different people. Not just you
Secondly...I was sticking up for my friend whom you smashed just because you thought Hikki didn't bring R&B into Japan. Lastly...I really don't want to fight Honestly, lets just keep it at that. I will apologize first, sorry kaorineko

I don't agree, even if she writes and composes all of her songs it doesn't mean she's putting the most effort, it says that it's natural to her to do so and she's becoming from a music background family, so no wonder.

The thing that got me into ayu first is her voice.
The thing that got me into hikki is some of her best catchy songs, but her voice is really good as well but no better, ayu's voice is really good too.

You don't need to try to prove that hikki is better though, she's your most favorite singer so of course she'll be better in anything for you hehe XD

At this we should all stop, and stop bringing here other artists other than hikki.

I agree with this post. She was not the first person to release R&B in Japan, however she, along the artists who followed, definitely made it what it is today.

I get that. I think that's a totally more agreeable statement. She definitely wasn't the first but I'd say she was definitely a pioneer.

I'm sorry too. That was kind of intended as a joke but she's my best friend in r/l...so I was sorta sticking up for her.

Actually Ayu's my fav singer. Utada's just a tad bit on the boring side but I do believe she's more talented than Ayu. But there's just something I LOVE LOVE LOVE about Ayu that's made her my all-time fav singer. And I don't mean her music <.<...but of course I'm inlove with that too.

Even if Hikki's music usually bores me to tears, I'll congratulate her because I kinda like FOL and it did have massive success.

Kinda expected flavor of life to be number one! To me, it was quite a good ballad and the tie-in with hana yori dango makes it even more sellable
