Maybe they felt that the girls were lacking this year....while the males have dominated this year (or last year for those who are in a new year!) Either way, I think it wasn't that many great performers this year anyway....I hope the next Kouhaku is better....waaaaaay better.
@truehappiness: Are you saying that Miss Kumiko is bad luck for the girls?
