Ayu only calls her real mother "mommy." The rest are like "mom" or "mama" or "haha".


It seems that the old lady she hugs at the end is the kind old woman who prepares meals for them... I think I saw her in the food-eating section of alterna. XD

Yea it's a pretty sad story actually.

Around the time when ayu was 18, her grandmother got sick and had to stay in the hospital. Then around the time she had to record poker face, her grandmother got worse. Ayu visited her grandmother before leaving for Tokyo to record the single and said she would hurry back. Her grandmother said she would wait for her. But then just before ayu went into the studio to sing, she received the news that her grandmother had died.

I didn't think I was gonna have to mention this, but I don't think that was Ayu's grandma. I believe it was reported somewhere on this forum that she was, and then someone said she was just someone that Ayu worked with during her teen idol days or something.

Oh god. i thought she died during the poker face release, but i didn't know she died right before ayu recorded it. It's so sad

Well, she was very sickly for a few months before Ayu's major label debut..

Although there might be ONE photo or two with her grandma in it in the beginning of her idol video.
