SHe still looks gorgeus. She is great as usual, but, this time onlly, I don't understand the whole concept of this pv, so i'll give it a C(+). Sorry Ayu, even though some says it has really deep meaning, but I couldnt understand it no matter how hard I try

Actually, most PVs and MVs in general bother me. They should get movie directors and fashion photographers to do videos. One of the best music videos I've seen was made by Wong Kar Wai.
Well, I guess having certain amounts of sucky PVs do make the good ones stand out better But yeah, the other day I rewatched all her PVs and realized that most of them are really boring to sit through.

I think 2003-2004 was her PV year in term of how it looked artistically. I dunno, The trilogy, M, Evolution, Dearest, and Endless sorrow wasn't THAT interesting to watch...

I'm rambling. I wish they really could get a movie director as well, because I noticed she either tend to get directors that focuses a lot on the story aspect but the visuals would lack a bit and vice versa. And movie director tend to combine both...

Actuaslly, I think ayu fans cry too much. Most artists music videos and PVs sucks and don't really have a plot. Most of them usually have the singer on the streets or inside a house, just singiung with mostly random stuff happening, if any, at all. ayu is really one of the few imo who manage to have many PVs with plots and the likes. Whenever she does somethig regular, ppl act as if it is the End of the world

Exactly, compared to many other artists, I'd say ayu has a really high standard of pvs. What were people expecting, a motion picture? Oh wait, we got that with Distance Love, and people hated it anyway

I've watched the PV yesterday, and I think that isn't not good but much better than "glitter/fated" mini-movie.

The PV reminds me of "STEP you" but in six different sides of Ayu-chan.

Oh I agree with you with the "better than glitter/fated" statement.

Actually after I have read the interpretation, I really loved the PV of Mirrorcle World!

But that bit where ayu rips her coat.. Her expression is so funny!! XDD Cannot stop laughing every time I watch it! XD

who said WHATEVER PV was the worst eva??? it's great, because there's really a plot in it that fits the lyrics
Trust wasn't baaaad to my mind too...

but I agree about Born to Be though... or Startin? looked quite cheap and crappy, but I love the Pv and the song lol

EDIT: Distance Love was better because it looked as a one of these j-doramas, plus, it had the sweet Shawn, aww .......and it was directed very well

Awwww, I liked Distance Love
Then again, I'm all for sappy and cliche plots because I've seen one too many chick flicks

I like the PV. It's really interesting. It has sexy parts, fierce parts, and funny parts, to me. And I noticed similar themes from Evangelion, especially the part where she asks if she should leave her body, or stay in it (trapped). Everybody needs to go read Idealists' interpretation of the PV, because as soon as I did, I made wayyy more connections than just that one similar theme of Eva. The PV is really a lot more interesting than it looks at first glance, and gets better with every watch (which is exactly like Neon Genesis Evangelion). You see more when you watch it again. Hear more. Notice more.

It did have quite the few funny parts - I especially laugh when Ayu trots away in her gigantic red dress (after dropping the hankerchief). It's hilarious

But it also had a couple really great parts - I absolutely LOVE it when she moves her jacket's collar from her face and the sound of a mirror cracking/breaking is heard, and the expression of her face is priceless. You can definitely tell she was in a good mood, having a great time filming in Paris. And then the rest of the PV picks up and is even more awesome, all the way until the end.

Anyway, if you hate the PV, try reading the interpretation, it might help you to understand it more. Or maybe since I've always just been interesting in the whole singularity theory thing, I'm biased towards this PV.

We agree for the 999 time on this thread *except for the WHATEVER thing, but whatever lol*
People are never satisfied with ayu. If ayu ayu says "Pink", we say "Meh, why not blue?. If ayu says "Blue", we are like "Gosh, why not pink". If ayu says, "Pink and Blue", we reply "Green would have been much better"
Poor ayu. IMO all the stuff she releases is HQ. Yet people treat her recent stuff like ****.
"But ayu doesn't sound like in 2001 " WOOT! guess what? time also passes by ayu. And i would like to know about one artist who still sounds like she sounded 10 years ago.

The clip is soo great! I love her acts and the Paris Style!
I love the scene with the doves that flied by Ayumi in the red dress.
And I love the scene with the Telephone Cel!

Feather nails rule!| Yeah, this was not the best, but one of the greatest PV's I think.

That really is how it is.

With the talkin' 2 myself pv, people were like "waah, too much dance, she has short hair, the dancers are too prominent". This is completely opposite, there is no dance, she has long hair and her dancers are nowhere to be seen. Still not good enough.

I thought this was a brilliant PV after looking at it a second time. In my opinion, all of her previous PV's seemed as if they all led up to this one.

So, I'm really going for imagery rather than symbolism. I'm not good at that sort of thing.

Spoiler:
I really love the beginning. It's almost like a movie: the scenery, the orchestra, the set-up of this glorious story.

I'm somewhat unimpressed with her lip-synching here in the beginning, but I think Ayumi looks stunning! The barret really suits her.

The next scene I'm about to talk about, the part of her in the sexy outfit, is the first that reminds me of previous PV's and such. This part actually reminds me of a photoshoot she did a while back during the promotion of "Secret."

Alright, next is the feathery head shot. The eyelashes remind me of "alterna" and the nails remind me of "RAINBOW." This shot, in my opinion, actually makes her look like she could be in a Western/American video.

The red dress is another reminiscing image to me: the old commercial for a Lumix camera (maybe?), and they used "RAINBOW" as the background music. This image didn't have a large affect on me.

I wondered what they would do for the sound effect of the glass shattering, and I really like the use of all four Ayumi's singing and showing their emotion/facial expressions.

The phone booth reminds me of "Ladies Night" (the phone itself) and "About You" (the glass box).

The ending is very hypnotic, in my opinion.

So, right now, I'd give it and 8.5 or a 9 out of 10.
