^I think that every songtitle connects to the lyrics in some way. I at least haven't found one where it isn't possible to draw a connection so far. Though at times it might only be apparent with extra informations from ayu herself.
Sometimes the titles even add an image that the song wouldn't have otherwise. Like "talkin' 2 myself" and "Mirror" for example.

Yes, every title connects to the song somehow. And her capitalization matters a lot too. I think I've mentioned this before but um
If her song titles are all caps, like BLUE BIRD and CAROLS, the song usually has a straightforward mood, like how BLUE BIRD is 100% cheery and CAROLS is a straightforward heartbreaking ballad. If her song titles are something like Dearest, Voyage, Connected etc, the title usually is a state of emotion/a place/an emotion/a title to someone. State of emotion: Trauma Pride Bold & Delicious A place: Voyage (not really a place, but rather a journey...) Beautiful Day (not really a place again, but rather a sort of formality towards the day itself) Moments A name/title: Dearest Liar A time of something: Ladies Night and so on. Next, if her songs are all in small letters, the song usually sounds either happy/sad, but has a subtle meaning of depression/hope, as opposed to how the song sounds like. criminal (depressing sounding but has a slight tinge of hope at the the 2nd chorus) fairyland (happy sounding but obviously is a very dark song in terms of title chosen and PV) decision (cold/harsh sounding but an anthem of self-acceptance in actual fact) fated (sad ballad but has slight tinge of joy "The one standing before is none other than the real you") flower garden (happy sounding but lyrics are actually about the pain of difference, IMHO) If her titles are something like Endless sorrow or whatever, I guess it's a mix of the above examples. Also, a cap may represent emphasis, like: my name's WOMEN (focus on WOMEN; girl power) Therefore, I guess the way she capitalizes her titles are important as well. Oh gosh, we should start a 'Ayu in Literature' thread... Ayu has so many nuances and depth in her songs/PVs! |

![]() but i think most probably the case will be like ayu write her feelings down in her diary or something ( perhaps a small notebook ) so that she can refer to her diary book for writing lyrics? ( i think most of the movie director did that.. ) or perhaps, she went around places to search for "lyrics feeling" to write lyrics ![]() but i remember ayu said in a TV interview in CCTV, she says that her current mood = her current album, so i assume that she use her mood to write her lyrics? oh no please ! if my English Teacher saw that(wad if she's a ayu fan.. lol), perhaps she'll ask us to do EL literature in class for artist ![]() PS sorry for the double post.

I read somewhere that Ayu named a song "NOT TO BE" but Max renamed it as "TO BE"

^I've read that several times, too. If this was the case then I think he asked her to rename it because "NOT TO BE" sounds so negative probably?

O.o i didn't know song names have such deep history xD i wonder if the title font matters too or not :p
funny her name in cds doesnt have capital though...capitalization is indeed important what about HEAVEN, its rather lonely, yet all CAPED lol >_> |

^Well yeah HEAVEN sounds sad, if the title is in all CAPS it's either straightfowardly happy/sad.

how about the title M?
it has no meaning when u just look at the letter "M". But i bet ayu doesnt want her song to be titled "MARIA".. i will feel that it's cliche too.. but realise whenever the song M is part of a tracklist of any album/DVD, it has this special font that she always uses!!! why is that so? |

M could be something special; after M marks the first song that she has ever composed so maybe... it could be in the special font just for that.
And 'MARIA' is just so... cliche as you put it. |

There's also a chance that "M" has this title, because there could be another meaning to it. Who knows?
