Britney Spears' sixth studio album was confirmed on May 9, 2008 by the producer Bloodshy, who produced her hits Toxic and Piece of Me, via MySpace. Later Fredwreck has confirmed it via MySpace, too.[1][2].

The British newspaper "The Sun" confirmed the news and talk about a christmas release, and began rumors about an alleged chart battle between Britney and Whitney Houston, who has also penned a christmas release.

A label source for Jive Records said that "Britney has been on fire in studio of late" and that "during recording sessions for her last album she was consumed by her chaotic private life. But she is determined to make a triumphant comeback. Top brass have been amazed by the quality of tracks they've heard".

On May 10,2008 Fredwreck one of the producers of the song Ooh Ooh Baby also confirmed via myspace that Britney was working on a new album

During March 2008 Britney reunited with former manager Larry Rudolph, and in April and May 2008, Spears was seen several times near the recording studios in LA with the songwriter/producer Damon Elliott.

Anyway, I hope her new album turns out to be more like In The Zone. That, in my opinion, is her best album ever so far. It's so unique, and so different from anything anyone's ever done. I really hope she can outdo that one.

Well she has been very often lately in the Studio working on a new album... first they thought she's going to re-release BLACKOUT but now it seems that she's releasing a new album instead... I like it how things have changed and that she finally got a grip of her life again ... It was about time that she got back on track.... every famous artist had some "CRAZY YEARS" (MC, Madonna, Whitney, ... ) but they all are getting back (or have never been gone) and better than ever .... GO BRITNEY!!!!
