Weird beginnings in ayu's songs

I would say the bells in Free & Easy fit the song very well as Free & Easy is a very solemn song.. For Mirrorcle World, the first minute was totally useless but i like the idea of it as it created different "moods" in the song, which (i think) was what the title of the song suppose to mean.

yeah! i missed out fated! fated is such a sad song. I think it could be better without the screeching sound. It's true the screeching sound at the beginning literally made me feel like skipping this song on the mp3.

Well, i dont like it nor hate it. jus wondering whats the purpose of it. cos some songs like fated and Will, their beginnings serve no purpose (not that i can think of).

yeah.. NEVER EVER is another song with weird opening. but i must say the beginning of NEVER EVER do sound like its purpose is to bring us to another world.. ??

and for Bold & Delicious, i like the opening. It's fresh. Not many ayu songs begin with such punch. and what's more? it brings us to the mood right away, from the beginning. that's why i like it.

^I think most intros serve the purpose to grasp the listener. And they also make it easier to differenciate the song by listening to the first second.

Though I agree about the intro to "Mirrorcle World". It's pretty on it's own, but it lacks a smooth transition between the orchestra sound and the actual beginning of the song. That's why I usually skip to the beginning of "Mirror".

The beginning of Mirrorcle World doesn't really.... fit the theme but it is really nice.

I agree with the Dolls opening, pretty weird. audience's beginning sounds like a big audience yelling and Beautiful Fighters just sounds like a marching band, with ayu saying that weird phrase along with it...

Alternarist, I have NO clue why you think the beginning of Will sounds like something being sucked from a tube, because it does not sound like that. At all. o_o

And I disagree anyways, I think it totally fits the song.

I love that sound at the beginning on teddy bear. It seems to give the song a whole atmosphere.

I like the sounds at the beginning of In The Corner too, for some reason, it just fits in with the beat and it remains there all the way through the song...

Hmm, weird beginnings... I kinda like all of the one's I've heard. I think it adds a unique touch.

As for kiss o' kill, I think it fits the song really well, and it makes it more mysterious sounding. And if you listen carefully you can hear what sounds like an announcer/reporter speaking, though you can't make out what he says above the children's voices.

Will is awesome, and I think the sound at the beginning fits it. It makes the song unique. For most of them, it really just grasps me. I don't like the intro to Mirrorcle World that much though cause it really stands on its own, but it can pass.

ya, i can only agree with the YaYa-GaGa-WoWo stuff in BoldnDelicious...sounds pretty like a pain in the ass. but a true Ayu fan finds a way how to adore the song sooner or later. what goes for kiss o kill...when i first got my hands on the Secret album, this song became my absolute favorite...even tops Startin XD. it was particularly because of that freeky chorus in the begining.
i see it that way: there HAS to be some hidden significance to all those unique beginings since so many songs listed above begin in a rather unusual way.

The beggining of NEVER EVER freaks me out.
The Dolls opening might be weird, but I really like it...
The intro for appears and A Song for XX (030213 Session #2) are quite weird too.

LOL, I have B&D intro as my ringtone too! It's just so lively. And it makes people's heads turn. And I love the opening to LIAR. Very carousel-like. Freaky too. XD

first time I heard HANABI I thought it were a low-quality version I've downloaded... but then after I bought the CD I noticed the same weird sound throughout the whole song... it sounds just like it's an old LP playing, you hear it in the beginning and the end... like it's windy or something, can't really explain it...

have you guys heard it? and do you know why she/they did HANABI like that?

I thought Dolls, that starting is freaky to me. To me its sounds like dolls talking and squeaking and =O scary~

I think kiss o' kill is a bit scary with the children/people going yah yah dah gah yah yah yah...

I used to think the beginning to I am.. was a bit weird with ayu singing acapella, but now I see it as pure genius haha I love that song to death now.

I like B&D's intro, though I still cringe a bit if company's over and I put it on full blast...cause obviously its not a very normal intro.

Born to Be... is another one, the intro jsut puts me off otherwise I love the song to bits

Oh also, even though this is a pv..its still a song. But for Ayu's walking proud pv, the kid saying "Ayumi HAmsaki, Walking Proud" creeps the hell out of me in a weird way...

yeah, these are all mostly intros that creep me out a tad bit, regardless I love the songs

Dolls is very weird..I dunno why, but after that opening (if u survived)...its beautiful
