Disappointing 10th anniversary.

1. It's oricon who counts the sales themselves, therefore no one can manipulate the numbers (not avex as well) or the positions. It's totally baseless...

2. The sales didn't miraculously went up, there was a whole sudden promotion for the single a day before the sales rose, and gifting with it at the tour venue.
A day after all that the sales rose, it's not really surprising.

To add a release can be #1 just 1 day and be #2 the rest of the week and still get #1 weekly.

For examle Single A sell on the first day: 70,000 and is #1, Single B sell on the first day 10,000 and is #2. The rest of the week Single A sell 2000 and being #2 and Single B sell 5000 the rest of the week being #1.
Single A will be #1 weekly even though it was #1 just one day.
(and MW was like 3 days #1 not just 1 day).

Bits me why it so hurts that Mirrorcle World gained rightfully and not surprisingly the #1 weekly spot.

I'm not saying it happened in this instance at all..
But oricon has had some rumours that Avex can control numbers sometimes.
That's why some people couldnt wait until billboard came to japan. =\

avex can't control numbers at all since avex doesn't count oricon's sales.
Oricon count on its own. It has nothing to do with avex. They are getting sales numbers from the stores not from avex. xD
Those rumors are baseless and sound like an excuse for why some releases are #1. It's pretty pointless to think that avex has anything to do with oricon's countings.

Avex has money, they could easily pay off Oricon if they really wanted too. Nothing is absolute in a world where there's money.

Avex aren't the only ones that got money, if what you say is true any other company could pay the right price for their artist to be #1.

Oricon has high reputation, it's unique for not taking money for changing numbers.

There was a famous article that was published in 2003 speaking out against Avex, saying that the chart numbers were very inaccurate for different reasons.
There was a court case between oricon and the guy who published this. There was an interview with someone who said he randomly inputted numbers for different ranks.

I don't really care... because now, I think Oricon is really kept under watch, but there HAS been scandals, like any business.

In this case, obviously it's always been legitimate with Ayumi at least.

I'm not saying that Avex for sure manipulated the numbers, but Oricon manipulation is certainly not unheard of. And Avex isn't the only one, Johnny's control of Oricon is notoriously talked about in Japan.

I don't think they might have manipulated the numbers. Maybe the avex people went to buy a large amount of the single themselves. Haha. I know avex can't buy ORICON out.
