This was like, a year before her "announcement." I'm pretty sure she went to the doctor's some time after ASIA TOUR 2007, but before planning for CDL07-08 and GUILTY started..

...That's what I meant by "in denial" ^^;; My experience with people who are disabled have shown me time and time again that they will deny the fact that anything is wrong with them until there's nothing that can be done for them...


As far as I was aware, there was a point when physicians could do something for her ear, but she didn't have anything done, correct?

No...
You must be mixing with the leg incident of the DOME TOUR 2001 where the doctors told her to rest but she performed at the same day with hurtful leg and still did it.

I'm just going to say, we didn't know she had the ear problem till this year, who's to say we don't know more about the whole thing? We don't have her medical charts and records. I'm not saying I don't trust what she says, but she took a long time to finally say that she'd lost her hearing in that ear...

Actually, the notice about her ear problems have long been known I think 3 to 4 years ago. I actually didn't hear about it the first time this year, for sure. She never made any reference to the poor prognosis it would have though, which she did only recently, shocking a lot of ppl.

Touring most likely had no effect over her prognosis. Touring or not touring, she'd still lose her hearing.

Actually, she has gone to the doctors quite a long time ago. I'm sure she's been treating her codition and taking care of it for a long time. However, unfiortunately not all diseases have the best outcomes for everyone. It probably just happened that ayu's case was refractory to any treatment and there was nothing the physicians could do - it just progressed to what it is now.
