The CDL03-04 has like one or two songs different during the COUNTDOWN portion, but that's about it.

Another news link, this time from mixi's news talking about ayu's 10th anniversary and the new A COMPLETE album.

http://news.mixi.jp/view_news.pl?media_id=54&id=557579

There's also a horrid pic of an alternate poker face cover?
I love the original used one much more if this one is an alternate XD

Here it is:

I like the name and i know is subject to change, but i wish the compilation was called "A Decade" instead... A Complete sounds like she's retiring and won't produce any more singles

She probably did. Not many other rooms have tile walls.

COMPLETE CLIP BOX was also named in such a fashion, and she still made PVs. A lot of people thought Memorial address was her final album. Too much overreaction with titles imo.

A SINGLES BOX sounds like it'd be better or A SINGLES 1998-2008..

The way I see it, Ayu's career isn't going to last a whole lot longer, and I think she knows it. Another few years, and she'll start to fade out and eventually she'll be gone from the music scene. Losing your hearing majorly affects your ability to sing. One ear's already done, and by the looks of things, she's not really making any attempt to make sure the other one doesn't go either. She lost her boyfriend of years, she lost a dear friend, she's getting older, ten years is a long time to be in the music industry, and she's no Hikki, she's no Namie, she's slowly becoming disabled. That makes a lot of difference than singers who've been around a long time and are still moving.

The way I see it, she's easing us into the end, I'm taking A COMPLETE as a sign towards that direction.

Atika: If you didn't have music as a career, where would you see yourself? What would you be doing now?

Ayu: I don't want to think about that but.. um, because basically, my love is music. Music is my life. If without music, or I can't sing anymore, it's like, I die! I'm nothing! Because music is everything, you know? That's why.

Atika: In that case, 10 years, 20 years from now, where do you see yourself?

Ayu: Ah, yeah about the future...

Atika: Yeah.

Ayu: I want to keep write and sing. But I don't want to think about future too much, because present is most important for me. Always, you know? That's why. I don't know yet about my private future. Because private is private, right? I want to keep my private future secret. (laugh)
I don't know what you're talking about.

^Everything was still pretty happy at that point, and based on my experience with disabled people, she was probably in denial about her hearing up until a short while before she announced it to the public.

I'm sorry but I have to lol.
You exaggerated it the whole way XD.

She's not the only one who's losing popularity and ironically last year she was the most proffiting (or 2nd) japanese artist.
There are jmusic divas that sell 3000 for a release and still keep releasing a lot (like seiko matsuda).
She won't lose her hearing on the other ear mainly because she doesn't have a disorder there (unlike the deaf ear that had it).
She is just turning 30 not 60, give the woman a slack, (not comparing but Madonna is 50 and still moving). Namie is also some years older than ayu.
Everyone loses a lot of things, so what? she just takes it as inspiration for songs (untitled ~for her~ etc.) hikki divorced last year.

For the releasing of this album, well she's on avex, it's really not surprising they release it and on her 10th anniversary.

That's exactly how things are =P you made it sound like she's 90 and going to die.

This was like, a year before her "announcement." I'm pretty sure she went to the doctor's some time after ASIA TOUR 2007, but before planning for CDL07-08 and GUILTY started..

1ST, she has had the hearing problem for years from now. What we think it's recent is just that fact that her hope for improvement was completely abolished because the doctor said there was nothing more to be done. She's been struggling with that ear problem for quite a lot of years to say the truth.

2ND, what the heck are you saying about "she's not making any attempt so that the other one doesn't go either"? So far her right ear is a normal ear, and it has no problem (as far as by what she has implied), so I don't see where you get the assumption tha she's intentionally damaging it, when she's not. Actually her left ear didn't become disabled because she was careless about it. There was just nothing to do, as even the physicians weren't able to do much for it.

That makes no sense. Namie had to face a divorce, and even worse than having a friend die of something, had her mother murdered. She's still going strong. Also, ayu isn't in any way severely disabled. Her left ear might not wiork anymore, but her right ear works wonders. Any human being can live without too much limitations if they only have an eye or an ear. That doesn't make them severely disabled. They might not have all that having both organs provide, but still, they can do almost all normal tasks any human being can do.

...That's what I meant by "in denial" ^^;; My experience with people who are disabled have shown me time and time again that they will deny the fact that anything is wrong with them until there's nothing that can be done for them...

As far as I was aware, there was a point when physicians could do something for her ear, but she didn't have anything done, correct?

No...
You must be mixing with the leg incident of the DOME TOUR 2001 where the doctors told her to rest but she performed at the same day with hurtful leg and still did it.

Actually, she has gone to the doctors quite a long time ago. I'm sure she's been treating her codition and taking care of it for a long time. However, unfiortunately not all diseases have the best outcomes for everyone. It probably just happened that ayu's case was refractory to any treatment and there was nothing the physicians could do - it just progressed to what it is now.
