Didn't really like Volta but Bjork is really awesome! I hope her next album will be better.

^^^ I think Bjork said Volta will be her last album for awhile. I would love a new album soon, but I wouldn't expect anything before 2010

I hope so too. I did buy Volta, but it didn't impress me at all. Sure it was original but there wasn't a single song that I could say I love :\

^ What about "Wanderlust"? I ignored it until it was out as a single, and now it's among my favourite songs ever <333333

Oh, I have a question. Did anyone get the CD+DVD of Volta? With the sticker of Bjork on the front? How did you open yours? I uh.... cut mine down the middle. ^^;

^I thought Wanderlust was decent, but I didn't love it. It was just alright in my book. But then again, by the time I bought Volta, my interest in Bjork was really fading away. The video was amazing though and I bought it off iTunes with the entire single since it was all for only $1.99. That was definitely worth it in my opinion.

And I bought the CD-only version (since I never actually saw the CD+DVD version anywhere here in the US) and that had the sticker as well. I was just really careful and opened peeled the sticker off from the side then stuck it to one side. That way I don't have to keep peeling it off every time I open it. I think the sticker idea was pretty retarded though because it seems like it could easily get ruined.

I agree, and I'm sure that around 95% of other Bjork fans do too.

"Volta" is the only album in her catalogue that gets worse with age. What happened to her writing?!

I open it normal! I put the sticker on the side, cause when you open it too much the sticker didn't hold it together!!

I wonder why so many people don't like Volta, cause i think it's a great Album!!
The Singles are very very good, i love all of them!! And the non-single tracks are good, too!!
It's a good mix i think from slower songs and fast songs that i miss in vespertine and Medulla (but they great albums after all)!!
The only thing i don't like is the terrible package of the album and the boring videos (except the Wanderlust-Video wich is wonderful)!

I didn't like it because I felt she tried way too hard with Volta. The songs were aiight but sometimes they were cheesy. Nothing like what Hidden Place or Hyperballad made me feel.

You've met P!nk multiple times and been to an insane amount of concerts. I don't see how Bjork canceling a show can devastate you

Yeah, that's pretty much a good summary of why I didn't like it either.

omgg i love Bjork, i saw her live at the start of this year and it was amazing!!!!

I cant believe you guys dont like Volta?!! I think its among her best albums, i love it! Especially Declare Independance, Wanderlust, The Dull Flame of Desire, these are awesome songs! If you guys dont like this album you cannot be a true Bjork fan!

I worked backstage at a music festival this year and my job was to decorate Bjork's (and RATM, Silverchair etc) dressing room, but then she was sick and didnt come to the festival, so all that hard work or nothing! hehe

hey all! can't say I'm sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead because I just recently fell in love with bjork. Its funny, because I've had her CD Homogenic for ever, I've just never listened to it. Now (since I'm getting ready to move) I ripped it onto my itunes and can't stop listening. Its my favorite.

Hopefully later today I can get another CD of hers. What would you recommend?

I like most of her albums. Homogenic is great so I'd say it's good that you already have that. I really have to recommend Vespertine though. It's definitely her deepest album in my opinion. There's just so much complexity to the tracks and it fits so well as a whole. I personally like it better than Homogenic. I also really love Medulla because the concept is amazing and some of the songs are just phenomenal. Post is also great because of some fantastic singles. Volta and Debut are without a doubt my least favorite albums of hers. They're both alright, but neither really affects me that much.

^I was definitely attracted to Medulla because of the awesome cover! maybe if I can get a good deal I'll buy both CDs you recommended. XD that'll save a lot of the time it'd take choosing.

I'm listening to Vespertine and this is definitely the CD I'm getting today. I love the compositions of the songs.

You mean in the video right? That was "Who Is It (Carry My Joy on the Left, Carry My Pain on the Right)".

OMG I LOVE BJORK!!!!

Vespertine is, quite possibly, without a doubt, my favorite album. Pagan Poetry and Hidden Place are beautiful. The whole album is beautiful, for that matter, and it ranks on my list of best albums ever made.
I'm not being biased, I'm speaking the simple truth. Vespertine sounds like the angels in heaven put itself in music. God, it's so good.

But I love all of Bjork's work. I can accept some of her flaws because underneath it all, all of her albums have good and low points. She's so talented!
