Hopefully it'll rise again. There's no way this album should sell less than 400,000 its first week. It'll probably be strong second next week, which is honestly good enough, considering it's just an "A side" single collection. IF, and this is an IF, she threw in all her single songs, this could have been a pretty dangerous collection. Throw in an online code preview of GREEN (like RAINBOW), she would have been even more deadly.

But overall, it's satisfying sales for a collection after a year.

The higher the standard, the greater the disappointment. Ayu set the standard with her million-selling records, now that they're not breaking a million, some people is disappointed =/. In my opinion, I don't think Ayu is all about selling as much as possible (her record company is) I mean if you think she really gave a damn about sales, she would be not be promoting the hell out of this compilation? I'm sure we could all think of a thousand ways she could promote A COMPLETE to help raise sales, but the fact is she's not. And if what people were saying in previous forums are true, Ayu doesn't even get a lot of money for these sales, so I think the only ones who are hurting is Avex. Ayu is just enjoying her 10th anniversary =/

Even if Ayu doesn't get 500K or however much would be acceptable, I know I bought one, I enjoy it, and that's all that matters to me personally.

I was wondering about that. Truehappiness posted that she was supposed to perform on music station and fighter and in the end she didn't, not even on those conventional promotion platforms. If i were her, i would perform on 10 different shows and sing 10 single songs, 1 from each album lol...

Are you sure ayu doesn't get a lot of money for her sales RIAA practice is 16.7% of gross sales and then there is contractual cut of net profit and upfront payment on contract. Let's say RIAJ is 10% as a conservative estimate, if ayu sells only 500k of CD+DVD, she's gonna get 0.1 x 4571 x 500k and that's excluding CD only, net profits blah blah. Believe me, she's rich. And she doesn't have to share it like KATTUN, arashi and l'arc en ciel. Why do you think ayu and koda kumi are sort of always listed as the highest earning singers... And yeah, let's enjoy the 10th anniversary with her!

yea...I totally agree. If its about the sales and money, she would be doing songs the general public would like rather than the rock influenced songs that she enjoys doing. She sticks with what she likes to do and I respect that...she have her own style...even though ppl complain about her recycling. I also think for those who didn't bought one, shouldn't complain about the sales. I can't believe I missed the mail today! I'll get my copies tomorrow~

"A (UN)COMPLETE" is actually doing much better than I thought. Considering that most of the songs have already been on a best collection - and some of them even three times already! - those sales are really good. If it weren't for "A BEST II" last year, it probably would have sold much better. Honestly: In what way is it attractive for non-fans anyway? The concert footage and unreleased covers might not be attractive for people, who aren't fans. It's basically for those people, who want an overview of ayu's 10 year career and, of course, her fans.
Also it's 3CD+DVD, meaning: It's not really cheap. So people might consider a second or third time until they are going to buy it.
