Song similarities

Who else has noticed that the melodies for Life, SEASONS, and fairyland sound almost exactly the same? Does Ayu make alot of her songs sound similar on purpose? Or is it just she prefers certain tunes over others?

Life and SEASONS sound similar, but I don't think fairyland sounds like them.

Ayu doesn't compose the majority of her songs, so she isn't on purpose trying to make them sound alike.

YES I THOUGHT THAT LIFE AND SEASONS SOUNDED THE SAME TOO but no one else did... only the melody of the verses though

A lot of her songs do sound similar. I like how some of the melodies are revisited again and taken in a new direction. I usually have to have these things pointed out to me though. I couldn't pick the similarities between LIFE and SEASONS until I heard a mashup of the two songs!

Viewed as a whole, none of her songs sound the same. It might sound the same if you can take a small part of a song and compare it with a small part of another song.

For the biggest hits she didn't compose herself she mostly stuck to to composers. It's not really a big surprise there are going to be some similarities. like angel's song /fairyland the first few notes of the chorus is the same, so are the first few of AUDIENCE and BLUE BIRD, but overall the songs are so different it doesen't really matter.

Oh and to the poster comparing BB and fairyland, we're talking about composition, not arrangement. =)

Sorry for confusing people, I didn't say the entire songs sound like replicas of each other; I meant the beginnings and some of the choruses sound very similar, even if they're in different keys.

those 2 songs are really NOTHING alike!!!!
only the PV's have a similar theme nothing else.
