Some group in Japan (I suppose it's a trade organization for the marketing industry ) surveys the public to determine which advertising themes and characters are popular. The survey says that the most popluar CM campaigns were:

1. Suntory AMINO
2. Suntory BOSS
3. NOVA foreign language schools

The most popular CM characters were Ayu, SMAP, and Takuya Kimura.
