Has Ayu ever helped you?

It seems a lot of people on here say how they feel better when they listen to an Ayu song. Or that they are really connected to the lyrics of a particular song. I mean Ayumi just wrote lyrics, sang and created music. It probably wasn't a goal of hers to help people when they were depressed. But, she has helped many people in different ways. At one time I was really sad and I discovered her. When I listened to her and read her lyrics it was really strange. She helped me to feel more connected to myself, and even prompted me to write my own lyrics. Not really any other artist is able to do that.

Sorry if that sounds cheesy. But that's just how I feel. So has Ayu or her songs ever helped you? You don't have to go into detail.

i think ayumi has helped a lot of people. when i listen to her i will feel better too. it is not like that with many other artists for me

that's really all...but I mean, music for me is emotional, kuu's songs always make me happy soo...it's not really anything amazing or anything.

so gives words to emotions i have...but i mean...i don't really need that either...

so no, not really. Not in the way I've known her to "help" other people.

Personally, listening to her music gets me in a good mood sometimes, but other than that, none of her songs have really got me through tough times that I couldn't have without her.

I grew up on her songs, and they gave me such strength when I needed it the most. Though some of the messages may or may not apply to me now, it's because her words instilled hope in me that I am the person I am today. She is a paragon of perseverance in following her ambition despite handicap, and has constantly inspired me as a writer and poet. Her unique thoughts that she put forth in song coupled with her strength of character have strongly affected my values and have truly shaped me into a more mature, respectable person. Ayu constantly reminds me of the importance of self-reflection and self-value, while taking into account that which is taking place around me between my peers and environment. I am a stronger, more well-rounded person because of the way in which Ayu inspired me so much throughout my childhood, and the way in which she continues to motivate me to chase my ambitions with all my might today. That is the reason why she is my favorite artist and support her with all of my heart.

Ayu has quite a few songs about taking control of your life ("Fly high" and "Catcher in the Light" immediately come to mind), and I've always been more reactive than proactive... when I hear the "ganbatte" songs, I usually stop complaining & go out and do whatever I need or want to do, rather than whining about my circumstances.

She gives good advice, i suppose.

I went through a terrible time earlier this year.

I started listening to Ayu more when she released Mirrorcle World, and since I began listening to her songs more, I became a happier person, and that terrible time I went through earlier this year became easier to deal with because I would listen to A Song for XX.

She unintentionally helped me pass the time by listening to her music and being entertained with her videos. She also helped me filled up an empty spot on my wall with her poster. Actually I'm the one helping her by buying her stuff.

Yeah her lyrics and songs are meaningful, but I think thats all in the power of music. Music can can you feel all sorts of things .... so I listen to ayu and other artist as well when I need a pick me up ^^
