Koda Kumi vs. Misono

Misono has such screechy vocals sometimes, but a few of her songs have been really good. I think that's probably why she's not doing as well as her sister.

DAT had a couple of good songs, mainly "Faraway" & "Starry Heavens". I just don't think her solo music is as good as DAT's, eventho it's sorta similar from the little I've heard.

Misono has never had much popularity as a solo artist. one contributing issue to her lack of popularity is that she has problems with her image. she has been on a sort of a "celebrity weight loss"-reality tv show, so it's clear that she isn't doing so well. and she's also considered "big" by japanese standards

i like misono.
her first album was painful, but it had a couple of great singles.
her next set of singles were all pretty good, and i was impressed with how the album turned out. i think im gonna go buy that actually....

and the way misono does the whole 'no clothing thing' is more scary than sexy.

kuu certainly has a better image, but shes now into the more typical jpop 'starlet' scene. whereas if misono were to have that type of image all of a sudden, it wouldnt really sit well with her music. id like to see her stick out more rockish stuff. she has a great rock voice (so does kuu, but she can manage the pop stuff no problem too).

having said all that, i do like kuu better.
but thats probably more or less because we have a lot more to go by with her.
i think misono could be a fantastic artist, she just needs to keep up the work.

I've heard some misono's music and it is crap, seriously and she's had wierd cover shots of her albums, especially the most recent one, where's she nakey.

Honestly, misono was up quicker than kuu at first. Kuu was struggling when misono was having success with her Band, Day after tomorrow. Until Kuu sung FF X-2's theme then she came up real quick. If only she wasn;t offered that role in FFX-2, she might still struggle until now. And honestly misno wasn't as bad as she is now. I dunno what happened to her voice, probably it is due to her sister popularity now that she feels that she has to catch up or sumthing. it is funny how they changed places so fast just because that one role.

And I don't think genre has anything to do with it. There are some great j-urban singers who, imo, as good as or even better than Kuu but they still struggle until now, some even failed and never came back. it was all thanks to avex and its great marketing power and off course a good booster (head start) like ff x-2. Though I have to admit some artists, even with a good head start still failed miserably.

I personally prefer the music of Koda Kumi.
As for everyone saying how cute misono is...
I think she and her sister look almost the same.
And Koda is NOWHERE near as beautiful as Ayu.

The only songs I liked from Misono were faraway and starry heavens and those songs were like back from when she was still in Day After Tomorrow.

I like Kumi's music better. I can get into her songs unlike Misono's. O.O

i really dislike misono. imo, she's just flat out gross and has NONE of the personality or talent her sister posesses. i feel bad for her because it has to be hard having really famous relatives while your own fame was shot to hell. and now that she's taking her clothes off for grauvure pictures i can't help but wonder if she's trying to follow in you-know-who's footsteps for popularity.

anyway, i like kumi a lot better. her music appeals to me more, i don't think misono can even sing very well. and misono is really trashy imo (yes i am calling someone trashy compared to kumi), the video juicy posted is a good example.
