I think he means how her way of singing has evolved throughout her career. Obviously, comparing her voice now to her voice 10 years ago, there is a clear difference. I don't know if I quite agree with that list though. I would say poker face to A Song for XX should be one era. I haven't really heard anything past her I am... album closely enough so I can't say anything else about her voice changing. I know for sure that GUILTY to the present is another era. Perhaps My Story all the way up to Secret being another era of vocal change.

I think WHATEVER would go to vogue actually. I'll listen to them to check though.

Oh well, everyone's voice will change as they grow older.. So I believe that there's nothing wrong with your arrangement. As long as the song had been distributed earlier before the song that's arranged under it, it should be at the right track.

imo, her voice changed because she forced herself to sing a way she couldn't from poker face-vogue.

I agree. Those were times of great challenge for her as a person and as an artist though. She had many thing she to resolve by herself during that period; otherwise she would not be standing here today. Ayu obviously matured as a person over the years...the maturity is crystal clear transitioning from '98 to '00. You can just see she had so much more confidence and the she talked more firmly too. Perhaps she thought it would be paradoxical that she changed as a person, but her "artist" side was still stuck in the past. I think she can without a doubt go back to her "old way" of singing, but her current mindset and who she is won't let her. That and maybe her body won't let her do it either...she's half-deaf and her vocal chords have probably become damaged over the years as well. So the way she sings will never be the same sadly =|.

No... Actually there're a lot differences between ayu's vocals that were used in WHATEVER and vogue.

I'm glad she took some vocal training then lol...dunno if that really helped her. I'm sure it did. She's a good singer in her own right even if it doesn't come off as the norm for some people.

You know, the main reason that why she changed her voice is that too much contests hurted her throat.

I wish Ayu hadn't strained her voice so much
But it definitely resulted in some interesting songs, like Startin' and the GUILTY songs. This is how I've noticed her voice change:1. poker face - WHATEVER 2. LOVE ~Destiny~ - evolution 3. NEVER EVER - Voyage 4. H - Bold & Delicious/Pride 5. (miss)understood - Secret 6. talkin' 2 myself - present |

I understand what you mean, but... it's pretty hard to do even that. I thought that A Song for ×× was recorded before Depend on you... I understand that people like to look at how her voice has changed, but... for me, I like whatever I like of Ayu's works... so if I like one period of her singing, I listen to that. I don't complain about how she's changed. |

I like how she sounds now!
![]() Because of course her voice matures trough years of experience and at times when needed sound rehearsals. Of course her song's are actually HARD to sing,ok not all of them but really some of them really are! ![]() The way she was singing actually had a touch of a certain CHARM in it,that i really loved, but also i like the present state of Ayu voice capabilities! She sounds more serious ( in the way of words expressionism),and of course mature like voice!

Ayu changed her voice as she 's grew up. I love most on her voice during Limited TA Live Tour 2003. I watched her performance in the AC~as~. I think, The performance is the best live performance of Ayu I've ever watched! I love her pink outfit in that concert.

As of now I think her voice was perfect back in 2002. It had the perfect balance. That could change as I listen to more of her later albums/lives. I've seen up to Stadium Tour 2002 so far and the voice was magnificent.
