I didn't realize that Namie fans these days are so defensive. Maybe it's because they're new? Back in the day, I rarely encountered people so rabid about her. This was before Queen of Hip-Pop.

I do think Ayu is cool in ways that Namie isn't (like writing all of her own lyrics, for one thing). But cool is overrated anyway. The worship of cool is so 80s/90s. I'd take class over cool any time.

Namie is one artist nowadays that has that really cool demeneur in the image that she portrays. That's what this poll is about, so what you're going on about right there is pointless. Wow, and Namie is also 'cool' in ways that Ayu isn't. Big deal. I like them both for what they can and can't do.

@emiko: That's great for you, but that's not what you wrote at all in your first post. "She's all old" does not = "She's been in the entertainment industry for many years". Learn how to write and/or communicate your ideas properly.

So funny that you're the only one getting defensive now just because I dared question your logic. Last I checked this was a forum and I have every right to reply to something I dissagree with. From this post of yours I gather that you don't have the slightest clue as to what "rabid" means in the first place, because I'm far from it. Being 31 is not old and I would have said the same thing for Ayumi (since you seem to believe that I only defend Namie). It's not a defense of just Namie but of women in general. That line of thinking is so ageist and it just disgusts me that people in this day and age actually think they can decide for others when a good age is to stop a career. Who is "everyone"? Do you speak for "everyone"? I thought so. Also, stop trying to play mod every chance that you get. It's not in the slightest bit needed.
