They would most likely ship a million copies of AC, and not 964k xD Keep in mind that Oricon doesn't work with all the stores in Japan (nor with YA and they do sell the ***. versions).

That's a really good number. Perhaps a million is still possible after all? (Sometime far in the distance.)

^ why don't they? is there a specific reason, or just pure laziness?

Well YA is not based in Japan so I assume that's why the sales don't count.

But does the source Yesasia get ayu stuff from register with Oricon? Maybe oricon doesn't include yesasia because it would result in double-counting. Really hope she gets the million certificate from RIAJ for A Complete. At least A Complete sales improved by 7 copies from last week lol...

Perhaps YA just is lazy to give sales info to Avex. They're headquartered in Hong Kong and their business is Japanese as well as Chinese & Korean music. I'd assume they have other things to worry about.

Laziness is definitely not the reason I think. If Yesasia were to be counted, the only way to do that would be that Yesasia's stock source is counted.

It's not just double-counting either, because oricon only registers sales within Japan (with CDJapan being the exception?). There's actually a really good chance that YA sales are counted because the source that they stock from is counted in oricon. Even if they are not counted within oricon, YA will be counted in the Avex sales index, unless YA gets their stock illegally. XD

The A COMPLETE sales have been very good.

^Oricon counts sales from CDJapan, it doesn't count yesasia though.
Everything enters to avex trax's shipping numbers most likely ^^.

It seems that A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~ is still doing great =D

Online businesses like CDJapan and YA are going to stock up on their merchandise so they can ship it out as soon as a customer makes an order, or else delivery would take insane amount of time. It doesn't count as actual sales. CDJapan most likely goes a bit further by reporting to Oricon the number of orders they are getting from their customers weekly, and that amount is added to the index sales. The units they still have in their warehouse aren't counted until they are sold.

Avex most likely had different numbers because they are estimating the amount of stock units sold to YA. The difference is approx 124k. YA definitely did not order 124k units of D/G all at once . Avex is likely estimating based off their last stock purchase with YA so I would say its pretty accurate

Looks like A COMPLETE is doing really well!... I wish YesAsia's sales counted directly towards Oricon though... It's rather odd that HMV doesn't consider it is actually A STORE IN JAPAN hahahaha xD;

Sorry to get so technical but this topic interests me. CdJapan is headquartered in Japan right? So giving figures to Oricon would be easier and as keikeiaznqueen suggests, they only accept Japan office figures. I think just about every music store and CdJapan as well sells on a consignment basis, that's why there's a price tagged on virtually every J-press album and they only count end-consumer sales.

Whereas for YA, they have already purchased the stock from a Japanese company so that Japanese source could have reported the copies sold to YA to Oricon or what I've just said is moot and YA just can't be bothered to give figures. I think it's likely that YA has ownership rights to the J-press stuff because they are situated in HK which would make consignment a little complicated and they can jack up the prices as they like. If that's the case, then they really shouldn't be giving figures to Oricon. They ARE the figures to oricon.

And yay, A Complete is still in the 4-digit range. But it's out of top 100

Who knows, I guess the only answer could be if you ask Yesasia directly. All I got from a little bit of digging is that Oricon only counts end-consumer sales from Japanese stores and online sites that are based in Japan like CDJapan/HMV/Tower/Amazon/Neowing
