I'm just happy at least it's moving up. It needs all the height it can get before it's kicked down again next week.

Ai no Mama de came out all the way back in January of LAST year. It didn't do that well on the charts when it first came out, but it stayed on the charts a looong looong time. If I remember right, it sold over 400k total last year and now so far 300k this year.

Ahh yes, you are right. I spoke too quickly. I was thinking that sounded like way to much. Nevertheless, mega impressive for a female singer and an enka one at that.

Up to no.9! Not her strongest second week showing but i suppose most of the newer releases are selling quite well.

Yay #9 again! This is REALLY like A COMPLETE and Days/GREEN! It falls to a position with new releases, and it climbs back up again in the next few days... amazing! Go Ayu!

I'm just joining this discussion now, and I don't know if it was mentioned in the first thread, but is Ayu close to beating Seiko Matsuda's consecutive #1 streak record?

I think she's four or five singles away from beating it. Something like that?

seiko has 24 consecutive #1 singles. ayu needs 4 more to equal the record. 5 to break it. that's still at least two years away...

if it wasn't for the Daybreak recut single she would've broken it by now.
