Yeah I believe it probably is the piano ballad that Ayu was talking about in one of her TA messages. Not sure if there are other instruments though. A lot of people describe the rest of the album as having very digital arrangements.

I think that Days could be refered as a kind of "classic" song, it did appeal to a lot of listeners (most likely because it's a ballad).
Just because ayu is not as popular as she used to be I don't think it means she doesn't release anymore classics.
Even if she would release a better classic at this time more than her earlier classics I doubt it would do too well just because she is not popular as she used to be on that time. That makes her songs get less "stage" and not be recognised much.
Some japanese people I talked to (that are not ayu fans) knew only her song BLUE BIRD and liked it a lot. =P
Maybe the classics standarts for her should change now.

I'm glad to hear that Curtain call will have ayu's vibratos <3 They are my favorite thing in her singing!
I do wonder what they meant by saying "regretable" lol.

Well... now we are talking about your opinion... I personally dislike Ayu early albums and could live without most of the singles from that time...

They are classics among the public, but this don't really reflect quality... Ayu was at the peak of her fame that time, so it's obvious people will remember this singles more than the new ones were she is already an old face

All I know, is that the first time I heard evolution or Surreal or Audience etc. etc. I immediately knew they were something special and amazing. Whereas none of her recent singles quite reach that standard. And her songs being great was a big part of the reason why she was at the top of her popularity then.

I'm sure we will be hearing Seasons for years and years to come, but will we still be hearing Days? And I'm saying this even though I actually LIKE Days.

All right, I'll get into the translating comments about the new songs too.

Ohhh, I see the Morning Musume comments too. I'm actually a Momosu fan, but I don't know how I feel about that for Ayu.

I also see a number of comments regarding the lyrics and that some of them seem to not have enough thought put into them (similar to the criticism of Sparkle).

Also it appears that there is a lot of English on the album......

People seem to like Curtain Call though and are saying its emotional. Someone even says that it is a "Gospel Ballad." Are we getting B&D ballad version? lol.

I haven't read enough comments yet to really say, but overall the reaction is mixed at best.

btw, I'm not using 2ch like Coelcanth - so that's two sources with Morning Musume mentions....maybe there really is something Musumish on here.

Yeah, I've actually seen the phrase Morning Musume way too much, especially for the song EnergizE. Though someone disagreed and said it sounded more like Arashi. lol.

Why won't we? Can M or SEASONS be heard everywhere in Japan often?
I think that at this point it's a matter of opinion but because ayu is not popular as she was on that time less people (by a big amount) would favorite it or listen to it for a long time like you say most/a lot do with M or SEASONS.

The mixed feelings actually makes me pumped lol.
I do hope it's not cutesy-putesy morning musume and more electronic morning musume (even if I don't like their music but their late style is better).

I would highly recommend for people who are running to cancel their orders to wait at least to hear the songs (and interludes) though.

I can see most running back pre-ordering/ordering it after loving the songs.

i think cancel the order is a good way to say what you think about it. some people want buying full songs not short melodies.

anyway...
i don't know but something in my mind is telling me that the only interesting things in this album will be "LOVE'n'HATE" and "sparkle"

something similar with GUILY album with "together when.." and "marionette" (the only new -good-songs on it)

Sorry, but if you really thinks that she was at the peak of her popularity just 'cause her song was "better", I would say you don't really understand how pop music works... It's pretty much like Madonna, It doesn't matter if her "best albums" according to critics and public were released after Like a Prayer (being most of the time Ray of Light considered the best one), most of her hits are from way before this... being Like a Virgin, la isla bonita, holiday, papa don't preach, and Material Girl some of her most iconic songs and all then released back at the 80's when she was a new face...

When you are new to the success as a singer, most of the public will listen to you, with time, mostly fans will get interested on what you are doing, while the other ones will keep listening and knowing only the "classics"... It's all about the hype...

I think Audience is a mediocre song with crap lyrics for example... and I think Mirrorcle World is one of Ayu best works... And I know a lot of people that agrees with me... It doesn't make me right, but the fact that you are an old days fan doesn't make you right also

Don't think your opinion is a fact... what is bad for you can be great to other one...

By the way... were the acapellas at AT08 based on public request, right?
We had a lot of very old songs from her (like a song for xx), but still, she sang glitter^^
