NEXT LEVEL will have 10 (or 10 and a half if Bridge to the sky is a short song) so I don't see what's the problem.
People also can cancel their orders after checking the songs out or at least hear glimpses of them.

OK, so Curtain call is up at recochoku and the only parts available for download are 3 verses and a bridge. Seems like there is indeed no chorus.

^um, actually, you do still here about seasons and m, especially if you're at karaoke. and especially if you ask casual ayu fans what they're favorite songs are. they're usually not going to say any new ones. i still enjoy them, but they aren't the same...SEASONS was/is an amazing song that obviously struck a chord with the Japanese public that her recent singles haven't been doing. *shrug*

i'm worried for this album now... but i'm amazed that people already cancelled their orders without even hearing the songs in full, that's amazing that without even hearing the songs you've decided that you don't like it.

so, eventho the interludes thingy is a rip-off , i think you, ayufans, are gonna love the new tracks... or maybe not?

love n' hate - is gonna be the favorite of many, its the one that stands out of the bunch (i actually like this song x_x)
Energize - mph..... haha ... lol
rollin' - it could've been better.. its the same issue with sparkle, the song is going nowhere, but the music is better this time imo
identity - doesnt fit the album, sounds like a reject from guilty (pukes). it kinda reminds me of decision, but lol i only listen to that song once so XD

curtain call - ew ew ew ew ew ew x_x piano only ballad.... the melody is AWFUL! and church choirs? really, ayu? XD

thats the only ones i got to listen to.

i'm only interested in love n' hate, is it going to get a pv?

They are classics among the public, but this don't really reflect quality... Ayu was at the peak of her fame that time, so it's obvious people will remember this singles more than the new ones where she is already an old face
That's only part of it. For one thing her "peak of fame" was also, until the unfortunate hearing loss in '07, arguably the most trying time period of her career. As a result, her songs displayed a kind of radiance that has seldom been seen since. A little of it is opinion but a majority of those who have been following her since that time (true Ayu fans in every sense of the word) can come to a general consensus that yes, her gems were in the early and not later part of her career. They are not simply classics just because she happened to be a huge pop icon at the time. They are classics because they truly are classics. There is not much comparison between the things she released back in that era and now. I wonder if you have ever taken the time to listen and understand her earlier works? I don't think there is a thing she can release now that can impress me as much as "those days". Because there are always exceptions, I won't say always, but this goes for any artist that has been in the business as long or longer than Ayu: the best stuff is in the early years of their career, when everything was still fresh and they had all kinds of ideas. As a natural result of time passage, the more you release the harder it gets to stay fresh.

I think Audience is a mediocre song with crap lyrics for example... and I think Mirrorcle World is one of Ayu best works... And I know a lot of people that agrees with me... It doesn't make me right, but the fact that you are an old days fan doesn't make you right also
The fact that she's an old days fans means she has an overall appreciation and true understanding of Ayu's old works that you are lacking; therefore, I don't think you'll ever truly understand why those songs are considered classics. You just get a totally different listening experience. Simple as that.

LOL. Well I think it is pretty much confirmed that EnergizE is sugar sweet make your tooth rot out bubblegum pop. Not only are there Morning Musume and Arashi comparisons, but someone just said it is Honey Pt. 2. Which means that this might actually be Japan's favorite song on the album in the end. lol.

And I've read numerous comments now about Curtain Call being gospel like. It's apparently Close to You meets Teddy Bear - could be good.

I said it is PART of the reason why. Sure, there are a lot of artists that just release crap and are popular anyways, but those artists don't have longevity like Ayu does.

But I'm not just an "old time fan", if she does something in the present that is good, I say so.

....And I think Audience has amazing lyrics.

I didn't mean for it to come off as fact, so I apologize for that. But I do think that I at least have a strong basis for it and I also know that a lot of people would agree with me.

And thank you jimex289! That is really nice to read especially coming from someone who at least appears that they are a somewhat recent fan. (your forum join date.)

i really don't care how many interludes there are as long as the album's good, to be quite honest. "GUILTY" had 4 also. so, what's new?

I thought Disco-munication would be a full song, surprised it's not. Four interludes doesn't hurt, that much. Although I wish there was more A Song for XX or Duty happening. One Introduction Track, 11-15 full tracks.

I haven't really read anything to that effect yet. Just OMG Morning Musume! lol. Right now people are just giving their first reactions and not going into much detail.

But wow, CRAP, it seems Mishibado didn't like the new stuff hardly at all!

Curtain Call at least sounds like it might be promising to me, but it seems Mishibado absolutely hates it.

heck no, energize has nothing on Honey, Honey is prolly her best pop song ever

the best way to describe energize is... take the vocals from beautiful fighters, shove it into a 70's melody made with rock guitars and some techno sounds...
it may sound good but... its not

"put your hands up together, keep your hands up together... let me sing forever.." she sings something like that.. in english

you shouldn't trust mishibado though, from his posts here and in other forums he doesn't seem to like much ayu stuff.
