One reason i love Ayu is that even her weakest releases are better than most. I love BoA, but usually end up liking only a few songs on her albums, However I usually love every song on an Ayu album (Well except for Song for XX, very stale album) and of course after several listens. Of course Iam... is the epitome of a CD that contains not ONE bad track, every one is amazing, the best flow. Love Rainbow so if Next level is like that i'll be happy. Love interludes and techo/electroncia too.

Maybe I'm wrong... but as I see, ayu aways release the song thinking more about what she is thinking than what her fans wanna listen... I she wanted to please her fans there are a lot of singles and album tracks and even PVs that were very strange choices over the years... I can see this comming again with NL... Doesn't look at all like she is trying to please us... or her japanese fans... Just looks like she is doing what she thinks would be interesting to do with her music...

It makes me think about an interview Madonna gave in Brazil at the Ray of Light era... She was asked how is to depend on the public approval everytime she was going to release something and she answered more or less that she didn't need it... She made what she thought she should do... If people like it, they would buy it... if they don't, the album would sell badly and life keeps going... and that one of her albums had alread floped (Erotica).

I see ayu way of work like this sometimes... It's not like she doesn't care... but it's not like she produce her music based only on what it's going to sell either

At least to me though, it simply seems with this album that she is mostly just following the current trend of electro-pop music because she DOES think it will sell, not because its necessarily what she feels like she has to make because she wants to. No one here can say either way though unless they are Ayu themselves though.

^ True, but I don't think Ayu is that kind of artist really... She never seems to follow trends, she sets them. I'm not saying she set this one, but maybe she felt like giving it a try, again.

On the flip side, you could argue because LOVEppears (predominantly techno and such) did so well, she wants to try that genre again to increase sales.

But like I said, I don't think Ayu is like that. More like Avex is... besides if sales were really on the forefront of her mind, she would have promoted the HELL out of this album already (and tour). We're only now starting to get magazine information so...

I always though electro pop would fit Ayu well.
She's done STEP you and Ladies Night.
(don't) Leave me alone is electronic rock too.

This time she's just doing more of it. Which I'm glad.

Yeah... its not like she is doing this for the first time... She have some electro pop songs in almost all (if not, all) of her albums ... And by the previews... she is not having much more than before... I think she oriental sound this album has is more unusual for her than the eletropop thing...

The people who complain about 4 interludes (it's actually 1 intro and 3 interludes) and "only" 6 new songs should have been around when "Memorial address" was released. lol 3 singles, 5 single tracks, 2 new songs with PVs and 1 bonus track.
