Nobody is saying she is retiring or giving up her career. Her music activities are stopping to focus on treatments. I mean, unless she starts loving being a housewife so much that she can give up her career completely, she will work on her music (which she said she would). Maybe it will mean that her workload will decrease or won't appear as much on shows and such, but I doubt she will disappear forever.
