i believe that Ayu's music has healing powers. i was so yerribly depressed and distraught in my life, all these terrible things happening, i couldnt handle it all, i wasnt strong enough. if i hadnt had Ayumi, i probably would have ended it (my life)

Exactly how I feel. With her, I know I can overcome almost anything and that itself is something extremely powerful and rare to have with anyone.

Like jbrat said: I would have a lot more money.

But on a more serious note, it seems that people are drawn the most to Ayu when they are in depressed states in their lives - her lyrics (especially her early lyrics) feel like they are talking to you when you are in that state of mind.

maybe I wouldn't be the person that I am right now! I wouldn't listen to Japanese music, or spend money in it...

and I wouldn't love Japan as I do xD

I'm not the one who live with many problems in life. After I know Ayu, now I think much positive about everyone. I try to respect every single thing that are not good or good in everyone's life. I try to respect their favorites. Before this, I kept complaining about how bad are their favorites. Now, I really respect everyone's favorites, cultures and everything. It's really good to be positive.

Without Ayu, I must be spend my money on nonsense things. I also will not know anything about Japan and my grade for Geography must be really down because with Ayu, I really like to observe the world maps.

Thanks to Ayu.

Hmm... well I think Ayu has really made me stronger... more confident. Sometimes I sing Bold & Delicious in my head when I get nervous or something... ^^

And oh, how could I forget about Days.

(long rant coming up)

Maybe you would have known of my crush, but there was a period last year when I didn't see him for a long time, and kind of acknowledged the fact he really hates me... and it was honestly just a depressing period.

Then the PV for Days leaked and I downloaded it. That night, I really cried a lot while watching the PV. Because every second of the video just kinda screams out my story and it holds even more true and certain now. Sometimes I feel like Ayu knows of a fan like me and made the PV for me.

In any case, the lyrics came on later, and from then, I just... kind of learned how to love without being selfish... and just like that, my relationship with him improved A LOT, and we are like friends now~

Days is really special. Though I started from the Secret era... I've never been able to relate to any song more strongly than Days, with fated being second...

Many say A Song For xx is the first song they can relate to, for me, it's Days.

Who taught me true strength?
Who taught me kindness?
On whose account do I walk?
Who did I want to stroke my hair?
Who didn't give up for me?
SURE IT'S AYU!
She taught me a lot of things and I would be really different without her!!

Maybe I wouldn't be into Japanese music?
But since I later met a friend of mine that is into it, I was bound to discover Japanese music.

Probably into rock, rock and more rock. Before i knew ayu, i was into linkin' park, evanescence, gackt, dir en grey, luna sea etc... Ayu opened me up to pop. I sort of always despised pop before (blame britney and westlife) but i realized there can be such a thing as quality pop.

I was inspired and deeply touched by her poignant lyrics but I thought my life is still the same, I still feel lonely sometimes. I think Ayu doesn't changed my life as a whole but somehow helped me in a sense that her lyrics make me think about things like realizing what makes me lonely or why I should be strong, something like that...

When I listened to her music I feel ecstatic. I feel great, sad, happy, mixed emotions. With Ayu, I've learned the things that I only knew from her. She's a deep person and that's why I admire her. It's like ayu is part of my persona...

That's around the same she means to me, Ayu's lyrics, seen from the beginning til now, show an evolution and her lyrics brought a similar evolution to me, at first she was a depressed person as well, but she found strenght and now shes giving that strenght to others...thats why i love her and her music so much

Ayu's lyrics taught me to be appreciative of many things.. And her lyrics are so true and reflective and always sets me to thinking. I have never appreciated lyrics before I came across Ayu. A Song for XX is a classic piece of hers that really made me feel connected to it.

She hasn't really saved me in a way, like, if it weren't for her I would have ended my life long ago. But her lyrics are SO true and unique! I can relate to them and just, gosh, she has saved my life, just in a different way.

I honestly don't think I'd be as good of a writer if it weren't for Ayu. I'm not trying to sound conceited, but I really do think I have a way with words (or an ability to write well) naturally. However, Ayu has certainly inspired me to go beyond what I'm already capable of.

I don't know if my life would be "different" per se, but she's influenced me a lot. When I'm sad, I turn to her music and it makes me feel... not really "better," but it makes me feel comfortable. MY ALL has always, for some strange reason, given me huge bursts of confidence. There's a quality to her voice that's really personal. I can't speak a word of Japanese and I've only read through some of the translations, but that quality in her voice connects me to the song even if I don't know what she's saying.

Also, pre-Ayu I wasn't the audiophile I am now. So without her I'd still be listening to 128kbs mp3s, that'd be so awful x_x...
