i used to listen to J-pop 24/7. but now, i listen to whatever, really. J-pop, American, Spanish, etc. i still think J-pop is my core interest (as i'm taking Japanese classes & all), but i do agree that post 2006, J-pop's taken a dive (i've been listening since 2003). of course, there are still groups & artists i fully support, but none of these "new" artists are like the previous generations.

but, i also think there are great acts out there. you just need to do some searching. however, it's much easier to find underground American artists than J-pop for me.
