I'm really surprise she want to sing in US. It's not like EU because she said herself that she like France and it's why she learn French. It's really surprising. I really love artist who do unexpected things!

^ Definitely agree. That's really the only way Kanon can stand to fare alright in the US: appeal to an audience that's more into Japanese culture in general.
I'm certainly surprised she plans to debut, but I wish her the best of luck.

I think by American debut, they mean her first performance in America, not her actually breaking into the U.S. market the way BoA and the others are.

Kanon won "Best Newcomer" in "Shojo Beat" magazine's annual J-pop awards!
 I'm so excited she's coming to the states! I wish I could see her!

I miss having Kanon updates! Any news on what she's been up to?
Also, I have a note to make: I listened to "Shinshoku Dolce" on my iPod a week or so ago for the first time (I had only ever listened to it on my laptop outloud) and I was so surprised at all of the stuff I was missing out on! I never heard/noticed the cat meowing at the beginning of "Ennui Kibun!" and she hums the song at the very end of it when she's turning her shower back on. I just love that! Okay, now I have a question: is there a site that has lyrics and/or translations of her songs? I can't recall if that's been posted here before or not... thanks!

Her Myspace says she's doing performances at Laforet Harajuku Collection on July 4th and a concert at JE Live House on July 5th for Japan Expo. Seems she'll be in Paris for the start of July, go to America for the anime convention, and do a live at Shibuya O-WEST on Aug 9.
Guessing she's in Japan right now since the "Secret Live" took place on June 1st. |
