An All premises search of "Ayu Fortress."

On the 7th of April, Singer Hamasaki Ayumi conducted an event in the Shibuya area without obtaining a permit. The Communications Department of the Police Headquarters, and the police office in Shibuya were questioning the breach in the road traffic act, and finally decided to investigate the offices of Avex and other related offices.

In the district where many restaurants and the like are lined up, on one corner, there is the A building, where in front there were about 30 press people gathered, and it turned into a very showy atmosphere. At 10:30am, the search teams entered one after another, and continued until 3:30pm.

According to people involved, they had taken things like the notebook of Hamasaki's director. Basically, the police will send the items they took as evidence quickly to the prosecutor. If it is necessary, they will also ask for the circumstances surrounding the event from Hamasaki herself.

The Avex Group Holding PR room states that "since the Police Search is still continuing, we will decline from saying too much about this incident."

　レストランなどが立ち並ぶ繁華街の一角にあるエ社のビル前には報道陣約３０人が集まり、物々しい雰囲気に 。午前１０時半ごろ、捜査員が次々と入り、捜索は午後３時半ごろまで続いた。

　関係者によると、浜崎の担当ディレクターの手帳などが押収された。警視庁は押収した資料を基に、事実関係 の裏付けを急ぎ、書類送検する方針。必要があれば浜崎からも事情を聴くという。

　捜索容疑は４月７日午後、渋谷区道玄坂のビル「渋谷１０９」前のイベントスペースで、道路使用許可を得ず に著書「Ａｙｕのデジデジ日記２０００―２００９Ａ」（講談社）の出版記念イベントを実施した疑い。事前の 告知なしに浜崎が登場したため一時は８０００人近くが群がり、一部が車道まではみ出した。浜崎が引き揚げる 際には握手を求める人たちが折り重なって倒れそうになる場面もあった。

　エイベックス・グループ・ホールディングスの広報・ＩＲ室は「警察当局の捜査が引き続き行われているので 、詳細に関するコメントは差し控えさせていただきます」としている。

Geeze, what a media beat-up.

What is it with media at the moment? They're frying comedians in Oz and the US, and raiding premises in Japan because of a media appearance of Ayu? I hope it blows over soon but I don't think that will happen ;_;

Sounds like Ayu and Avex are being victimized. For some reason, they're being used as examples of how celebrities and their management companies can't just ignore police procedure and public safety, and organize such events, no matter how "big" or popular they are.

This is getting completely out of hand. All that's necessary for this situation is a monetary fine. But that's it. What else could they possibly do? Send Ayu/manager to jail for something that was virtually caused by the THOUSANDS of people who gathered around to see her.

If they do anything to Ayu/her manager I SWEAR Japanese law is corrupted. It was literally last month when they let that drunk-naked dude from SMAP get away with his crime. IMO, what he did was even worse because he was so drunk he had to be subdued physically by the police. On top of that, who knows who he may have traumatized in that state. Just looking at him with clothes ON freaks me out. >_<

Getting back to the point though, I really don't think this surprise appearance anticipated THAT many people attending the event. I think it's all being based on the AMOUNT of people that came to see her and not necessarily whether or not she needed a permit.

Seems like a ridiculous waste of police resources.

Maybe this 'police raid' is some kind of avex publicity stunt?

Or maybe the police are looking for evidence of juicier crimes and are just using the traffic violation as an excuse to raid the place.
