The No Doubt thread~!

No Doubt is back *happydance*

No Doubt is an American rock band from Anaheim, California, founded in 1986. The ska-pop sound of their first album, No Doubt, failed to make waves due to the popularity of the grunge movement at the time. The band's diamond-certified album Tragic Kingdom helped to launch the ska revival of the 1990s, and "Don't Speak", the third single from the album, set a record when it spent sixteen weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart.

The group released its next album, Return of Saturn, four years later, but despite positive reviews, the album was considered a commercial failure. Fifteen months later, the band reappeared with Rock Steady, which incorporated reggae and dancehall music into their work. The album was primarily recorded in Jamaica and featured collaborations with Jamaican artists Bounty Killer, Sly and Robbie, and Lady Saw. The album produced two Grammy-winning singles, "Hey Baby" and "Underneath It All".

No Doubt released the compilation The Singles 1992–2003 and box set Boom Box in 2003, both of which contained a cover version of the Talk Talk synthpop song "It's My Life". Frontwoman Gwen Stefani launched her solo career the next year with several collaborations, including bandmate Tony Kanal and Neptune Pharrell Williams, while guitarist Tom Dumont began his side project, Invincible Overlord. During its career, the band has won two Grammy Awards and sold 27 million records worldwide to date.

(i stole that text from wikipedia)

Current band members:

* Gwen Stefani – vocals
* Tom Dumont – guitar, keyboards
* Tony Kanal – bass guitar
* Adrian Young – drums, percussion

Discography:
Spoiler:

The Singles 1992~2003/Boom Box (with the album 'Everything in Time' which is an album with unreleased songs) (2003)

Rock Steady (2001)

Return of Saturn (2000)

Tragic Kingdom (1995)

The Beacon Street Collection (1995)

No Doubt (1992)

WELL, now they are back with a new song. Well it's not a new song since it's another cover but it's pretty amaziiing to finally get something new. And it sounds just like something from their older albums !

Download Stand And Deliver here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?vdegryumzon

This song is not an official single (yet). (i think it's okay for me to post the download link of the song since you can listen to it on the official ND site too. And if you buy a no doubt concert ticket you get their whole discography FOR FREE xD )

No Doubt is set to release a new studio album in 2010. And they are touring in North America this summer ( why not europe?!! WHYY T_T)

Yeah. No Doubt is like my favorite band ever. I have all their CD's and DVD's. But sadly I've never seen them live. *sob* My mom saw them live back in 1996 when I was still a little 7 year old that never heard of No Doubt. *sigh*
I did see Gwen on her solo tour. Her solo music was pretty good but not half as good as No Doubt music
So I decided to make a ND thread. (I searched if there already was a ND thread but I couldn't find any. so yeah)

Thank you for the new song , i had no idea it was out...i knew they were preparing for a come back and the tour but no clue we could hear a new song =)
BUT WHY...until 2010!!! that's too long! ....i've been waiting for this album since i first heard they're working in the studio again that was almost like ...year and half ago ...or so...not sure...the point is such a long time from now T__T

and you say this song sounds like they're old albums?!!! *spazz*
(i'll DL as soon as i finish my post)yay finally the real ND is back.
i did liked Rock Steady ...well not that much really, just a few songs to be honest
i really wanna hear something like the first three albums.

btw , since you seem to be a big fan of them ...have you heard the song Aladdin? or Dear John?...Gosh , those are sooooo cool! i wish they would record it and release em in their new album hehehe.

Anyways ...nice to know there are ND fans over here. cuz they rock! ^^
well later.
God BLess! =)

Oh cool that they are making a comeback!

I like a lot of their songs, mostly songs from the "Tragic Kingdom" album.

That album is so good!

I'm glad that there are some Ayumi fans who love No Doubt as well

@ Miss Corleone:
Yeah i've heard those songs a loong time ago. I love Dear John. I kind of forget what Aladdin sounds like.. I need to look it up again xD
And I agree with you, Rock Steady was a fun but kind of weak album. I love how they experimented with new genres though and Underneath It All is one of my favorites.

I agree , "Underneath it all" was the closest song (in Rock steady) to ND's real escence...reggae-ish.

Anyways ....anyone here going to any the concerts left?? or has the tour already ended?
man , how i wish i could go see em live. i'd love to sing along =). hahahaha must be fun.
although i wish they'd preform the really really ooooold songs. like "aladdin" , "that's just me" , "by the way" , etc. the list goes on and on.

I like the song "Running".

The music video has some nice scenes that I've never seen of No Doubt before, like back when they were younger, and stuff, and when they started together.

But their song "Don't Speak" was the song that got me interested in them. Song was really epic. *__*

The tour is going on till August I believe. I got to see them in Phoenix last month, they performed songs from Tragic Kingdom to Rock Steady and they played Stand and Deliver during the encore. I hear they're including some older songs every now and then though.

M_aria: Oh so cool!! you got see them live??? woow. and you say they're including older songs? i'll try to find out which ones. =)

Rookies: you wont believe this but i've never seen the Running MV...i have to see it now. i guess cuz the "rock steady" album didnt made such an impression on me nor it was what i was expecting , so i never really followed their activities and stuff during that period. but i wanna see the MV now , wanna watch those scenes you talk about. =)

and definetly "Tragic Kingdom" is ppl choice. most ppl agree is their best album. i guess i'm one of those. although i really like the lyrics of the "beacon street collection" album.

God Bless =)

Yeah I don't remember the Running MV either for the same reason as you. That's probably what was playing then at the concert cause I remember that it was old footage of them during that song (it was so touching I almost cried!). Ex-girlfriend had this rad James Bond inspired video playing when they performed it.

^Oh wow. Man i wanna go see them live. but come to think of it , i guess is better to wait for the tour after this one. cuz surely it will be after the release of their new album.
and i have much better expections for this upcoming album than i did with Rock steady.

hopefully they wont let me down and comeback with their old style! or at least something like "return of saturn" =S
God Bless =)
