Well, actually a few days ago, my left ear was REALLY hurting around the tragus for about 3 days. But now it's fine. So I'll just see if it hurts again. XD

i only use earphones when i work out at the gym.. an hour daily, with quite big volume
I don't have problem with my hearing but I'm afraid to use them more than an hour daily; i don't wanna lose my hearing..
I tend to play loud music while I'm driving tho..

^ as I said before, the AMOUNT of music you listen to is not very important, but the volume, 1 hour of loud music is worse than 5 hours of medium-volume music, you can use them more, just make it more quiet! one too loud note can already destroy much

I've heard from lots of people that actually listening to music for a long period of time is even worse than loud music for a short period of time. But honestly IDK.

I guess I'm kinda nonchalant about this
I always listen to music from my PSP on my way to school, home
It must be max volume whenever I listen, may be too loud for some people but it's fine for me

I listen to music far too often
I listen to it through speakers as often as I can, but when I'm on the bus, or walking around, or at work (on break) I tend to listen through earphones

I've had ear problems in the past, but that's more because (and this is gonna sound disgusting) I get this build-up on wax that needs clearing out every now and then.
That could be due to the earphones but I dunno.

I worry about my hearing because I listen to music as I'm sleeping, but a good general rule of thumb is moderation.....like if you're going to listen to music nonstop don't have it at a volume where you can't hear anything else...oh, and earbuds...totally not good for those ears.

But sometimes you just can't help it, like with "Evolution" or "Rule" I need to hear every sound effect in the song!

I think listening to loud music would be worse than listening to average volume music over a long time cos when it's loud it damages your eardrum; at least with avg vol it will be less damaging. ^^

^Well I guess you guys are right then. And it's better like that anyway, I guess. But it's just that I cannot enjoy music that much as I enjoy it on a louder volume. I don't know why's that.

^ maybe you have to get used to it? I had a peroid when I listened to louder music and the moment i started listening to it more quietly it was pretty boring the first weeks

^Thanks, noidea. I'll try that out. In fact, I'm listening to music really quiet now, and it feels fine if I'm concentrated on something else. but when I want to concentrate on music my hands just go to volume things up xD. But I'll try my best, lol.

actually I`m quite sure I lost a big part of my hearing already
I tend to listen very very loudly on my earphones but i think the music makes more fun that why (and I donīt wnat to hear the other people in the bus or train!)
but it is very unhealthy and I try to at least get the volume down a bit most of the time or to listen whithout earphones on my handy (when I sit alone at the busstop or so)

Rules are meant to be broken.

^ that actually isn't THAT bad, of course, your hearing will be under average, but probably not THAT bad unless youre holding your ear on the speaker
