May I suggest something? Putting aside the fact that this was a huge project for Ayu, also very important to her to further help promote herself in Asia, those sorts of big projects were always important to her and she IS a perfectionist so it's understandable to have a double, and some directors DO request a double on hand. Also, she can't simply watch it on playback; glitter/fated was shot with a movie-like feel to it and apparently also in a different format. It would've been loads more expensive to re-take the shots over and over if there was something she didn't like than it would've to make/buy another outfit for the double.
