avex seems promoted Ayu very much here...

Ayu sang 8, and the three performers before her also sang 8. The rest of the performers did 3-5 during the actual a-nation concert. They almost always give Ayu more songs than everyone else when showing a-nation on TV/DVD. I guess it's mostly because of her ~finale~ status.

^It wasn't just last year though, I remember for the last couple of years saying that her ratings at Kohaku were sagging. It'll be interesting to see what they do with her for Kohaku this year because I actually thought last years performances was one of her worst.

As for the a-nation broadcast - I was really hoping to at least see Maki or something. They don't necessarily need to show Ayu doing Boys and Girls every single year. Glad at least that 寒い夜だから made it in.

i only like sunrise, BLUE BIRD, and rule out of ayu's setlist. but seriously, i can't believe BoA isn't there, and ami only got "delightful" really unfair, lol. but i look forward to ayu's performances anyway.

She's normally in the second half of the show.. never towards the end though because by then, she has to be getting ready for CDL, haha.

She kinda is at this point. :\ Her past few singles haven't been too good (her latest with Crystal Kay didn't do nearly as well as people thought it might), and her last (Japanese) album had bad sales. Not to mention the overseas projects she's been focusing on were by no means a success. Her general popularity has been going down since OUTGROW.

But anyways... Holy Ayu. >___> Everybody else only has one or two songs, lol.

I'd have to find the exact numbers again, but from what I remember, yes these numbers were low for her. Although her numbers had been getting lower the last few years.

Seems like the ratings aren't really THAT bad. She even went up after JEWEL's year. I looooooooved seeing people watch Kouhaku on their cell phones outside of CDL before she rushed her ass on over there, haha.

Well... the ratings doesn't really depend only on her popularity, but also on overall kouhaku ratings for that specific year and when did she performed on the show
