Most evidence points to it being about her dad.... it's fairly certain from the lyrics that it's someone who she wishes she'd had a good relationship with.
Plus, in the beatfreak interview for the album, she said the song was as important to her as "teddy bear," and she did perform one after the other in concert. And we know "teddy bear" is about the day her father left.
