I don't know I don't feel much while listening to it.
But I'm not to fond of Ayu's ballads in general, so whatever.

omg for real? usually it's her ballads that attract people and make them fans, so it's interesting/strange to read that a fan doesn't like any of her ballads.

I didn't say I don't like any of her ballads, there are a few I like.
Heaven for example is great. But I'm not a ballad person, never were and never will be and Ayu isn't an exception.
To be honest the only japanese singers I can stand some ballads from are Ayu and Kuu.
I love Ayu for her dark midtempo songs like Duty or PS II or rock songs like GAME or t2m!

Some ppl from another Ayu Forum i´m member also don´t like it that much so you are not alone^^
It´s like with all songs, everyone has different taste^^

^ ballads are imo one of the strongest aspects that Ayu's discography holds ^^ It's really hard to judge the song based on what we heard so far

Hm, for me it's not. I like Namie's a little better, but Ayu's is still very beautiful, on the same level as Namie's. Both have made me very happy this season <3.

Nothing Namie sings will ever be close to what Ayu makes herself Hats down~ when it comes to ballads no silly R'n'B ballad can come even close to what Ayu does. At least that's how I think. Though yeah, it's needless to compare her to Namie.

Lastly I think that her vocals simply rock in You were... especially in the chorus.

Not trying to insult Namie, because I love her upbeat stuff, but I think she sucks badly at ballads and hers are usually VERY generic, unlike Ayu, the only generic ayu ballad I can think off from the top of my head is Daysand that song still turned out surprisingly good.

How did this turn into something about Namie though? Can't people like both? I like both Ayumi AND Namie's ballads, but for completely different reasons.

That's exactly what I think ^^ I love some of Namie's older ballads, even though she hasn't had a good one since Baby Don't Cry, even though it wasn't really a ballad. Come, 4 Seasons and I Will were purely amazing, but she doesn't sing stuff like that anymore.

yet as I said, Namie doesn't really do stuff like that anymore I do like both, but I appreciate one over the other. After all when it comes to being an artist I wouldn't really say that Amuro is truly one.

same here, they sound surprisingly strong in some parts.. i think this song will be very difficult for her to sing live.. like extremely hard. i actually can't imagine her nailing it, but hopefully she won't do too bad.

Oh, you read my post wrong I think. I meant just these two songs, not Ayu's and Namie's discography as a whole. Both Meaning of Us and You Were... are on the same level for me . Both are wonderfully done .
