And I think most of her "grieving" was around GUILTY, cuz she seemed really depressed [for a lot of reasons] during that period, but then "got her life back on track" and cheered up on MW~>NL period, so it would feel kind of out of place, being all dramatic all of a sudden... though then again, it's the season for that. Well I dunno. I just know I still harbored secret hopes that they'd get back together one day, which means THIS...

...has officially broken my heart
Those feelings are hard to ignore, and even if you write about it 2 1/2 years later you can still have feelings for that person. Ayu had different stuff going on in her life in GUILTY so maybe that's why the lyrics are different than NEXT LEVEL. Not all her songs are about Love and Relationships. And this one, You were..., seems just to scream Tomoya Nagase to me. Maybe Ayu met him recently and started thinking of him again, she said they are still friends. About Aibu Saki: The have been together for 2 years now and everytime I read an marriage rumour, it says they are gonna get married in the next days or next month. But they don't. For 2 years now. So, maybe there is still hope for the Ayu/Tomoya Shipper.
