Can't wait for BALLAD PV, so beautiful.
I'm 18 now, but I was 14 when I discovered Ayu by an accident on youtube. The first song I heard was Boys & Girls and the first thing that went through my mind was It wasn't the best first impression. I got I still find it hard listening to her earlier songs, but when I heard Startin' about a year later I was hooked

The BALLAD PV was beautiful even in LQ, so I can't wait for the HQ-version.

I was 12 when I discovered her. I'm 19 now, so quite a portion of my life has been spent following her releases. 0_o

Good thing BALLAD is being broadcast again today; the more promotion, the merrier!

It's interesting to see how the demographics have changed over the years.
For instance from 2002:

to 2005:

and then last years:

Since there's been a gradual shift to the older groups, it could just be that her fans are aging with her. But it also seems like she's not attracting many new young fans either.

Mostly from Women 20-30 age group didn't change its stats.
I was surprised how the older generations(50 & above fans) are in to her!

And I was a bit sad that newer generations (young fans) didn't attract that much on her.

Discovered her when I was 14 and I am now 21.
I never once thougth about her being sligthly different with her high-pitched vocals and such. I just absolutely, instantly adored her, and I still do. Unfortunantely, I get really defensive when someone critizise her too, because it happens so often when you play her music in a western country

It's not, that's stupid. Everybody has the right to enjoy Music no matter what age they are. It kind of gets me, here at AHS a lot of people always say Ayu is old, too. But she isn't, she is just 31. That's still young, guys. Maybe I was the same when I was 17, but I doubt I ever thought like that. Everybody who says you're too old, just isn't mature enough. I know Japan is also a very age conscious society, but that's sick we're all getting older and the day when all those "OMG Ayu's a granny!"-People reach 30 will come sooner than they think, and no it's not the end of the world.

^Yeah! U r old! Please die now!

jk! xD
I find it really nice that ayu apeals to adult audiences... it's hard to keep on top without being the favorite teen artist (cuz they spend more money on this stuff), but Ayu is managing to do this well

That's exacly, what I think. No.. it isn't the end of the world, when you become over 30. 30 is still young. I don't feel old.
And Ayu really don't looks old.
When I see some people I went to school with, I really think "Wow, he/she really became old". But.. Ayu looks young.
When I was around 14, I also thought, that 30 is old. But.. it isn't!
So, don't be afraid of becoming 30..
