I think THAT is the channel we want, though at this time they're just showing morning news programming, a norm for Japanese television networks at this time, though NHK's news television programming seems to be more of a professional-format version of news programming...

Does it say NHK-G in the top right corner? If it does, then it is correct. For me, I cannot even launch that channel, it just shows an empty thumbnail and nothing happens when I click on it...

The NHK-G logo only appears in the widescreen hi-vision HD broadcasts; KHTV is showing only the 4x3 version, with the Japanese katakana for "analog" appearing static in the top right corner (though NHK's are quite smaller than the ones we see on Fuji TV, TV Asahi, TBS or so; when I was watching KBS Kyoto for some Arima Kinen Day Japanese horse racing, they also showed the analog icon, though they were slightly larger and it only appears for about a minute after a commercial break...), but I think you might want to take a very close look - it might be a little hard to see it...

(Note: On BS-1 and BS-2 analog broadcasts, which are only available in SD, the top right icon shows not only the BS-1 or BS-2 icon, but also the smaller-than-average analog icon below it...)
