I think what people have to remember is that Ayu doesn't make music specifically for one individual's hopes and dreams so having them is kind of like asking for disappointment lol. The most I hope for right now is an announcement lol.

Yeah, for me, a new album is enough to satisfy me. I don't want a new I am... or a new alterna, or more CREA, but it'd be nice if that happened.

All new material in my opinion can be embraced by fans, it's just that a lot of fans let their expectations get in the way and that ends up leading to disliking the album. NEXT LEVEL was thought to perhaps be a "next level" for her musically by some people and ended up not satisfying their interpretation of the title, so they thought she 'failed' but I think she succeeded on some level by venturing into a genre she hadn't dabbled in too much during her career. I hope people will be able to enjoy this album and not simply repeat what has gone on for the last 5 or 6 years with people declaring that this album is "her worst ever" and that "her career should be over with this release" and so on. It's just so disappointing to see fans of an artist be such downers about a new release that I sometimes wish I were part of a more positive fandom that actually appreciated whenever an artist released instead of constantly comparing everything to previous works and how much better things were in the past.

I agree with this so much. I mean yeah, people have a right to their opinion, but to me it seems like some fans go looking for the bad in each situation, when really things aren't so bad at all. I notice a lot of people here enjoy pointing out/talking about the negatives more than positives. Here is just an example:

http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82884 best pics ever - 4 pages

This.

I wonder why you use I am... as an example though. I wouldn't want another I am... either, haha.

Oh, I'm not really sure. I think it has to do with a lot of the people leaving the fandom because by MY STORY / (miss)understood came around, she hadn't made another I am... yet so, they left. "Sorry, everything after I am... is just bland and stale. Kthx, leaving for good."

Yeah, I remember. There were a lot of I am... snobs around - more so than LOVEppears/Duty snobs, which is weird because I think they're both superior albums. I think a lot of people were infatuated with I am... because it's when she first started composing, thus people felt the album was more "personal" and it gave people some bragging rights. "Oh yeah? Well my favorite artist Ayumi Hamasaki writes her own lyrics AND music." And a lot of the people who visited the forum back then were really big on trance and that album had Connected, which people like fawned over. You could have really called that song overrated back in the day, even though you always see it on people's underrated lists now.

love you sometimes i didnt understand why people like to compare too much and it's just the artist is like their "music slave" who has to follow what they want to make them satisfy. if they like I am... then they should remember what she said "I am who I am" and can accept the Evolution of her music.yes i like NEXT LEVEL and oh GUILTY too

omg why are there so many pages on this?

We'll see if the song lives up to people's expectations when there's a longer, clearer version. I like it so far, but hopefully the rest of the song won't ruin it.

The next CM will be coming within the next two days if she follows the pattern she usually does with LUMIX CMs, so before this hits 500, a new thread should be created with NEW LUMIX CM NEW SONG: "________" or whatever.

It should be on the site very, very soon. If not tonight, then tomorrow night. The CM's usually get put on the site somewhere between 8PM - 3AM (US Eastern time). I know for a fact GREEN was on the Panasonic site at 3AM on the dot, whereas the NEXT LEVEL CM was posted on AHS around 8:45-ish.. but I don't know when Panasonic put it up.
