For some reason, I think Avex was trying to create another Ayumi because Ayumi is becoming way too powerful in the corporation, basically, if ayumi goes, the corporation will go down a lot as well.
That's why they created another ayu in an attempt to make ayu less powerful but failed miserably. Just my interpretation, or maybe I'm just over-sensitive on this subject lol.
