It certainly is in the rules:

2. Do not post anything that is related to global politics, racism, sexuality, religion, or any other sensitive or controversial issue.

Probably every 4-5 posts in the thread were inappropriate and worthy of infractions, but since the topic was already in that aisle, it would be too much to give that many infractions.

Trashing threads happens all the time, when we know it's not gonna stay on track. Plenty of news threads have gotten trashed because of repeated off topic talk, same goes for artist threads.

Regardless of who would've started that thread, it would've ended up in the trash.

I don't know if you're referring to what I wrote or the rule quote, but if the original post has sexual content, yes it will get trashed right away. That's the rules. No thread will get trashed if there's one inappropriate or sexual post.
