Kanon confirms second album
This is old news to most of us (since at new year's she posted on her website that she would be releasing a second album this year), but Kanon wrote about her new album on her blog yesterday. She confirmed that it will contain some tracks written by her. Here's my translation of the first half of her recent entry, where she discusses the album:

"Lately I've been doing the editing [post-production/backing vocals?] recording for the tracks. There will be songs written by myself on the second album. Reporting this to you all makes my heart pound, but if you would listen to them I'd be so happy!"

No word on when her second album will be out (she said it would be out by spring at the start of the year announcement, but it would have been in pre-orders already if that was so), but she's been working on it for a while now (and also recently completed shooting the jacket) so I assume we can expect the album in the late summer or autumn at the latest. I suppose the album will be a mix of tracks produced by mana and then new ones by Kanon herself (it's quite odd there were no lead-up singles to this album--Toumei no kagi ultimately got canceled as a single I guess), other than the two download-only tracks. I really hope those will make it on the new album, and it will be interesting to see whether Kanon starts entirely producing herself from now on.

Very interesting to see her take a much larger roll in her work, though I can't say I'm surprised! She's very multi-talented!
