People get the assumption I'm straight all the time because I worship her so much. What really bothers me about a lot of guys at my school is that they just treat her like a piece of ass. It's really annoying. She may be beautiful, but she is oh so much more than that.
Takes serious mind functions to think of a pretty singer to be more than a piece of ass. When I first saw who Ayumi Hamasaki was I thought the same. I know some guys online hwo tell me some odd things... like one kid said he gets a boner everytime he sees Ayumi. He'd probably bust one if he ever saw in her in real life.

Also to understand a "role-model" type of person you have to research that person. Know some stuff about them, meanings of what they say and do and all of that. For the most part not many males are attracted to Ayumi's music, just the looks. It may seem like a lot of males do but that's only because we are all condensed into one forum so it looks like a lot of peopl know of her.

In conclusion here... people are just dumb, the individual is smart. Just that when you group them by pers and other outside influences, they become dumb and only follow a crowd/presume things.

For the people bothering you still.. do my binder trick, it will shut them up.

As for the original question that everyone overlooked, I think it's a tad bit odd to be over obsessed and idolizing Ayumi as your life. I know one specific person in this forum who is so bias that even if Ayumi did something so dumb and ridiculous(probably a lot of peopel would do this but one in particular i know would) that people will try to cover her up and defend her even though she blatanlty did whatever. "no thats not true, ayu wouldnt do that".... k if you've known Ayumi for at least one year then maybe you could say that, but if you have never even said hi to her then don't say that. It just makes you look dumber on the outside REAL world.

well m y mother(doesn't seems to be lesbian ne ;p has alaways had female idols...so am I now with ayu..I'm 22 and I don't really care about what people say or anything,I've never loved a singer like her,and even if I appreciate a lot of cute japanese male musicians^^^_ayu is totally in harmony with my inner feelings, sensitiveness and esthetic sense,so I worship her and the joy it provides is far more important that what one may think...but they don't bother me with it tough..they make a little fun about her way to sing, but not too agressivly..

I am so pissed! The people at Your school Brittany are such total jerks! How can they.... I just have no words to describe my anger

You know it's kinda funny but here in Poland if a guy would start to have a *FEMALE* singers photos on his books etc. he would be considered gay, because having idol-singer's-pictures is so 'lame' and 'unmanly'. I am gay so I'm ok with oit but it's really starting to be stupid - a girl can't have Ayu photos because it's considered lesbian. A guy can't have Ayu picters, because he's considered gay.... I hate this world...

But I still love Ayu and still carry her CDs everywhere, her photos and talk about her wherever I am

I think maybe it's just considered wierd because it's rare/different... but again that's not fair at all. I think we should all join together and put Ayu pictures on our binders. If enough people do it, the people who DONT will be the wierdos

I find it incredible that when you look at everyone individually we're all so different. Yet some differences, even ones that are harmless and fine, cause some people to act negative towards them!

Yea... I feel for you... Just because I happen to listen to alot of girl singers.. people think i'm a wuss or something, but it doesn't really bother me anymore... As long as it makes ME happy, i'm not gonna let their thoughts intervene with my personal taste... Sure, I'm not the average 14 year old listening to J-pop/rock music and not even being Asian which people think is weird. But I think kids my age have a problem with being themselves, and i'm genuinely proud of myself for having unique tastes and not being close-minded like so many stupid people in my country these days...

everyone is entitled to their likings, Brittany. don't let such petty ppl put you down like that. and that goes for anyone else. show your beautifully Ayumi-decorated binders and lockers! let them KNOW!! (heh heh...just got a lil sidetracked..just a lil =] but seriously, i personally have ayu all over me...binder, clothing (MTRLB =D )...etc...so, it's all good ^^ and yes, people who criticize you for whatever the reason, they're not really that open-minded..or that educated for dat matter...xP

Brittany, next time tell them that you're actually a bi-sexual
or something like: oh, it's because of some guys that I have to turn into a lesb...*cough cough (at those guys)*
<or...too bad you aren't as 'handsome' as her>

those are pretty mean stuff...
but...hey...your guys are pretty mean too
...it's your choice

but anyways...I don't idolize Ayu, but her past and creativity has been my role model...
I don't see anything wrong w/ that
in this disorted world, it's good to have someone benign (like Ayu) to follow...
I'm not saying Ayu is the best, but I feel that she has many things we can all learn from
besides, many of her pix cheer me up...
so...I'm not lesb by looking at her pic...I've got a good reason
and so do you!

it's better to have Ayu as a role model, learn from her (and remember her song "forgiveness"), than to turn into a cruel, insensitive person (like ones scron at you)

no worry...you can always find support from me
(pm/e-mail me if you want )

The thing I don't understand is why people are so obsessed with everyone else's sexual preferences that they constantly have to be guessing and accusing.

Gah-yaah! My school used to have Korean & German in my school, so now the school eliminated them (WHY?! I wanted to take Korean!) and so now we only have Japanese, ASL, Spanish and French. The only reason we have foreign languages in my school is to spread 'diversity.' Right. It's not helping. Kids don't wanna take Japanese cos it's 'hard.' That's outside opinion person

I don't know many non-Asians who love Japanese or any Asian music, but when I do, it's so awesome. Ayumi helped me be in touch with my Asian side and be proud of who I am, so basically, that's another reason why I like and admire her. I know she makes mistakes and I'm not going to blame her for that, EVERYONE makes mistakes, cos we are ALL human

That song "Forgiveness" makes me think alot about how this world works nowdays. =_=;; I should ask to play it in Japanese class .. I played Pokerface in class once

Honestly, if I saw someone with Ayumi on their binder or locker, I would be like EEEKKK!! YOU LIKE HER TOO!?!?!?!? even if the person was a stranger. My friends are into her, but not as much as I am =_=;;
