i was searching google with the words 'lady gaga ayumi hamasaki' when i saw the title Ayumi Hamasaki ripping of Bad romance


i was the second Ayu fan who made an account there, just to say a piece of my mind. they bashed Ayu quite a lot and fiercly there, i just had to post.

Gaga's the unoriginal one.

first of all, Ayu debuted in 1998 with her hit single Poker face, but that doesn't mean too much since there are a lot of same named songs out there.

i won't get into too much general stuff, i think this picture says it all, simple and clean.

now about Ayumi Hamasaki's Sexy Little Things and Microphone PV's, where you all claim Ayu's trying hard to copy Gaga.

those 2 PV's are parodies, she's mocking Gaga (mostly), she's also mocking Gwen Steffani and Rihana.
Japan, and Ayu are well known for the 'unusual' and 'avangarde'. just take a look at Ayu's earlier PV's like Alterna, Ladies Night, a lot of her live tour performances etc.

Gaga wouldn't even be known if she didn't have all that unusual crap on her. same goes for Gwen, she had her huge single peak while trying to copy Japan's style and harajuku girls, while all Rihanna's hits are covers and/or songs with samples from other well known songs (music wise).

it's sad how they all try to copy Japan and act original. and that's why Ayu's making fun of all of them, it's sad to see what kind of stuff those artists need to sell well, how times have changed... and that's the pure truth.

this isn't the first time Ayu's made fun of American artists. watch her PV Startin'. it makes fun of Britney Spears and Xtina and american film industry. the original Kill Bill is a japanese movie and quite a few of huge horror movie hits.
Americans need Japan more then they wanna admit.

Ayu's a true artist, with style, she's been here for 12 years, while Gaga will fade away as soon as she takes off her idiotic costumes and masks.

i just hate when ppl are so ignorant, i personally have nothing against Gaga, i like a few of her songs, but this is just idiotic.

LOL Ayu released Poker Face 12 years ago. I guess she knew GaGa was going to take the name ahead of time so she decided to name her single after it instead.

People are idiots, especially when the realize that Ayu's poker face was released in '98.

Wow. Just wow. That pic does pretty much sum it all up I'm trying my hardest not to be biased here (don't like gaga; love Ayu) but I really think that some people are just too blinded by their fandom to realize that their favorite singer didn't come up with everything on their own (-_-) (although...I am blinded by my fandom for Ayu, but I will admit that Ayu is inspired by other people; but she is still original )

I'm sorry, but Ayumi Hamasaki is ripping off no one. I'm a fan of Lady GaGa, but a fan of Ayu too.

The only reason the video Sexy little things looks similar to GaGa is because Ayu was using some of the same designers as GaGa in this video. The most notable, Alexander McQueen. Most of the pieces Ayumi can be seen wearing in this video were made by him.

Ayumi usually doesn't use such avant-garde designs (although she has long in the past. ie. ourselves, alterna, Ladies Night, ect...) and the reason she chose to use them this time around was because her new album, Rock'n'Roll Circus had a "British" theme. That's why she chose to use all British designers in the new videos.

GaGa did not invent this style and too many of her fans credit her for it. She simply wears the clothes. When someone else does it, they are not copying her.

In fact if you want to get technical, you can look at the picture previously posted. Ayumi did "Poker Face" first. She also did the USB album first. And Lady GaGa even bragged to Ayu about having done a "bleeding dress" which Ayu did ten years prior.

I love them both and I hate arguing like this, but I can't stand to see Ayu being accused of copying GaGa when she most certainly did not. Thank you.
