I suppose ... but charts aren't profitibility rankings. There's no way to properly rank that, seeing as how you also have endorsements etc. etc. Charts are just to show which song is the most purchased song, be it in physical or digital form. Oh well, even if they don't merge the two I'd at least like to see a proper digital chartXD |

But anyway, until that day, we can still congratulate Ayu on her awesome physical sales XD.
What do you all think it will reach? I personally guess it'll be somewhere around 320k, if it has a chartlife similar to NL. |

It'll be REALLY depressing if it doesn't even get to 310k, though unexpected things happen. >.<

Although having a chart for physical and full-track digital sales would make things a lot easier for "single" sales, it doesn't make things better all around, in my opinion. |

Also, I don't see the problem with Arashi. The SOLE reason Johnny's chose not to release their songs digitally is to dominate the charts. If the charts were to be merged I'm sure they'd change that, they're suckers for chart succes it appears. Besides, this is the way it's done in the rest of the world so I don't see why it wouldn't work in Japan. Also, if you're worried about accurate representations of popularity, other charts factor in airplay as well, which can fix that. It's not like the current charts are very clear about popularity either. Galileo Galilei's song Hamanasu no Hana was a big download hit that received a lot of airplay, but it only reached no. 15 on the Oricon charts. |

The Japanese people download legally mainly full songs and ringtones. From time to time there are full singles who get certificated but never full albums. Not a lot of singles as well, just a few in a year. |

@ayumisrael : But isn't it just that no full albums have been certified because they simply haven't started counting? Here in Holland a significant amount of album sales are digital, yet only physical sales are certified. It might be the same in Japan, but I don't know that for sure. |

Wasn't the NL tour rated really low on Amazon Japan? Yet it's selling so much..
It's really a great tour imo, I need to get around to buying it, but damn it's so expensive. |

I'm not sure but I think that once an album was certificated. It's just that 99.9% of the albums don't sell enough digitally (as a whole album). That's why they also never certificate PV downloads and chaku uta incoming movie clips and RBTs. They don't have enough legal downloads. Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~'s incoming movie clips and full PV did very very well and it sold like 20,000 according to an avex pdf document. full PVs, RBTs and full albums (and almost all singles) are probably doing the same more or less. |

Speaking of Amazon, Rock'n'Roll Circus' rating is so high, haha. 164 Reviews 5 star: (116) 4 star: (18) 3 star: (10) 2 star: (6) 1 star: (14) 4.5/5 average on the site.

I do know of some singles that have sold a lot of legal full-track downloads (I think Soba ni Iru ne has sold 2.300.000, according to the Guinness book of world records), but I suppose those are only the real hits. |

It did show that speficially this song/single was hugely enormously popular though. I think that artists get popular/popular longer when they sell good/great+ physically. Specially with albums. 4th Day DVD Position: #20 (Music) Still in top 20.

Maybe a lot of people that didn't go because they thought it's not good regret it and buy the dvd (or bought the dvd as a part of the boxset) lol.
