California Gurls is... meh. I prefer her older songs. I kinda noticed the similarity with Ke$sha's Tik Tok, but God Katy's voice is so much better

But I'm pretty irked by the video... it's like they can't even do sex in a classy way.. just it's quite disappointing but oh well there must be a reason why it's the #1 song lol

Her song "California Gurls" is so good, I keep listening to it over and over again. And the music video is pretty creative.

My boyfriend is so annoyed with it now . It keeps on playing on the radio whenever we go somewhere. I still love it though .

The chorus is very, very similar. I think it's normal for pop songs to emulate what's hot at the moment, like Miley Cyrus' Permanent December (the versus are similar to Tik Tok's). Also, California Gurls and Tik Tok have a common chord progression, says my friend

As much as I hate to admit it, California Gurls has grown on me >.<! I am kind of excited for her new album, her first album has quite a few songs I like
