I think she's coming back today because in the flight from LA to Tokyo she will lose a full day crossing the date change (crossing time zones)

it's still Tuesday 9:30PM in LA while in Tokyo is already Wednesday 1:30PM, if she comes back "tomorrow" Wednesday in LA she'll reach Tokyo aprox Thursday night, just one day before MS...
