I don't mean to go off topic and turn this into a mom-thread, but yeah. My mom hates Ayu as well. She's a hardcore Cliff Richard and Celine Dion fan and hates anything asian... T__T

My mother said when i listened once to Carols, she loves the song, till the singin began then she said: Aww again hihoha ( she don't know ayu's name haha). Even though she didn't like the singin she liked the composition still positive.

I think one way to convert moms, will be a cd of you doing karaoke covers of her songs. I did that for my mom, and even though she doesn't like Ayu, she said that she liked it when I sang a lot better (which is obviously not because my voice is any good, but because it was me who sang)

lol about the mom thing, usually when i show her anything ayu she says "she has a really good voice".. i never really expect that sort of reply from anyone. she commented that about "Days" "GREEN" and "BALLAD". i guess it's understandable since her voice isn't as high pitched in those songs though.

Interesting, you guys are talking about families, because exactly today i showed my mum the performance of crossroad on the Music Station, and she didn't say much apart from that she sounds like all other singers but she loved the dress Ayu was wearing. My mum isn't too much into other cultures apart from russians and lithuanians, she's so old-minded..

Anyway talking about the song itself, the more I listen to it the more I like it. I told that it's ggonna grow on me. And it does. I totally love Ayu's voice. However, I still feel some sort of lack in the melody, probably because it's quite a poerful song melodic-aly and I just feel like i need to hear more electric guitars in chorus to prove it...probably gotta blame my obsession with rock music and rock ballads..

I think it's gonna grown on me.. but... THOSE COVERS.. why.. they don't fit the song, the pv o_O I know that You were covers and Sunrise/Sunset covers was far from image of pv, but when you saw You were covers you thought: Winter Ballad. (and both was a ballads, you were in my opinion is typical winter ballad) And when you are looking at the S/S covers you think: Summer single - at it is. But when I look on crossroad covers i think - ENERGETIC GLAMOUR POP. And then we have mid ballad. Lol.

Crossroad is now already on my top favorite ballads. The verse is so amazing her music station preformance was my first time hearing it (cuz i wanted to wait to have my hansd on the single, but i cheated T_T) lol
